All of the dishes were pretty delicious and flavor bombs which I really loved. Flavors also were very balanced per dish! My favorites were the crab & asparagus and the prawn congee. For the mains, the fish & pigeon were tender and cooked perfectly. Also saw some ingredients i didn’t think i’d like, but ended up liking them with the dish served. Overall happy with my meal but service is a bit slow considering everyone was seated at the same time and I assume that the kitchen was expecting us as we ordered the tasting menu.
Will still be inclined to try the ala carte menu next time!
The service was excellent; the staff were attentive and welcoming throughout the night. Our absolute favourite dish has to be the foie gras spring roll—it was so good that we had to order another round.
My personal favourite was the A5 wagyu bánh mì. The beef was tender and juicy, with just the right amount of chew. The crab fried rice was also outstanding—simple yet packed with flavour.
The price was very reasonable considering the quality and portion sizes. Compared to where I live, it felt surprisingly affordable. We paid around 1,650 per person, and we were completely full—amazing value for money.
This meal truly stood out as one of the highlights of our trip and was genuinely memorable. We’re so glad we decided to dine here.
I tried the Saigon tasting menu, and it was certainly an interesting experience. Each dish was beautifully presented and carried its own distinctive appeal. My personal favourite was the turmeric fish.
Service was warm and attentive. The servers have a good command of English, and each course was introduced with clear explanations and thoughtful suggestions on how best to enjoy the dishes.
I made a reservation and was seated on the ground floor. The interior features a lighted mural depicting the city’s landscape, which was aesthetically pleasing, and the overall atmosphere was dim and cosy. However, I did find the space a bit too cramped for my liking.
Overall, it was a delightful dining experience. Do drop by if you have the opportunity; it certainly lives up to its reputation as one of Asia’s Top 50 restaurants.
Such a wonderful experience dining here. Every course carries its own story, the attention to detail is impeccable, and the drink pairings elevate everything even more. The surprises in each dish were mind-blowing—unexpected ingredients coming together beautifully… and sometimes, you just have to trust the chef’s talent.
And yes, I was not disappointed at all. I’m truly grateful for this experience, where food becomes storytelling, and simple meals transform into art.
While many restaurants tout their Vietnamese credentials, most lead with French menus. This one was the opposite and a welcome change.
The wine pairing is different and challenges many of the usual stereotypes but, it is well put together and introduces different regions to the experience. We were given lots of useful information by the sommelier.
The staff are passionate about what they do and some of the dishes were delivered with a real sense of pride.
As a one star it matches most of its similar competitors for all aspects of the dining experience.
If I had one suggestion, it would be to offer a more comprehensive cocktail menu
Pricesand expectations are high, and they don’t match either of them. Simply overpriced. (Around 150 USD / person)
Drinks: need improvement. Mocktails are simply sugar plus water.
MAIN CRITERIA:
1. Quality of the ingredients: overall, the products used to elaborate simple dishes are at a good / high quality, they don’t surprise.
2. Mastery of culinary techniques: they are using good techniques mastered by other Michelin restaurants in the beginning 2000s.
Solid execution. Meats are cooked at a right and balance point ( probably the best of the meal)
But …No very innovative***
3. Harmony and balance of flavors: achieved, the team at the kitchen are doing a good job.
4. Personality of the chef in the cuisine: we didn’t have the opportunity to meet anyone from the team, apart from the waiting staff.
OTHER CRITERIA NOT INCLUDED INTOT THE MICHELIN STARS:
Michelin stars do not evaluate:
Service quality: need urgent improvement. How to present dishes, the cadence of the dishes served at the table.
For example: starters and main dishes didn’t come in time. We ordered 1 main dish per person, not sharing.
It is a western style meal. As a result, it gets very disorganized and the experience lost rhythm.
Décor or design: they are definitely not at the standard of other good restaurants in HCMC/ Vietnam, and the experience required integrity.
I.e. space between tables, the extreme noise, uncomfortable sitting, lack of space on the table.
Ambiance: Poor. Lack of style.
Location: access is messy and inconvenient.
My only note is that à la carte ordering seems to throw the staff off a bit. Nor did I feel like I got the same level of service as those around me who did the tasting menu.
I was not initially asked about drinks (I had to inquire) and was just asked what I wanted to eat.
Then when I tried to order an expensive glass of wine, the server said “are you sure? It’s 900k”
Girl I am sure.
The same thing happened when I wanted to order more than one dessert. She asked if it was going to be too much.
She was really sweet overall, I just think people should be able to order what they want.
The sommelier was 10/10, even pushing me out of my comfort zone to try a wine I wouldn’t normally choose.
The servers changed utensil for each dish and explained every dish in great detail. Service was very attentive.
Place was small but classy. It’s in the middle of a narrow local food street.
