The first sign this was a good place was they were playing old Taylor Swift deep cuts. It’s inside a hotel, with less tasteful decor, and while the decor in anacocho was still a little heavy handed (the animals scared me) it was a really elevated atmosphere for the price. The restaurant was small with few full tables (mostly café style) but we had no wait at all. Essentially the whole experience felt a lot more expensive and exclusive than it was.

The food is an extremely good value and the portions are large. The fried chicken sandwich was really good, maybe a little too much sauce, but the ingredients tasted fresh. My parents cannot eat gluten and they got the chicken sandwich roasted on a gluten free bun — if you ask they will accommodate by using a seperate frying oil, even for the fries (kind of shoestring and really nice). Then the barbacoa tacos were incredible with a very complex flavor.

The food menu is small but it seems that they chose quality over quantity because every dish seems very thought through, and it’s made up for by the extensive drink menu. The coffee is normal prices, the cocktails are pretty expensive (some more than the meals!) and the one we had was not my favorite , the green grasshopper which was too creamy and sweet for me. It was like a thin mint and not complex enough to justify the price for me. But I would 100% return next time I’m in town to try some of the other drinks which sounded a bit more sophisticated. Lastly the server was very friendly and attentive.

The intention was to grab appetizers and drinks but everything looked and sounded amazing we ordered everything and it was worth it! They follow gluten free sensitivities/allergies. The drinks were classy and smooth. The Mexican street corn is divine! The smacked cucumbers were a refreshing, bite! And the pork belly and big red & barbacoa tacos are a must try! Needless to say, we were full but happy! Worth every penny and worth every bite!

Just off the St. Anthony Hotel’s lobby, Anacacho offers a myriad of coffee, espresso drinks, and libations. The food fare is a fusion of Southern fried and Asian spice. I recommend the fried chicken sandwich and the skewer small plate.
The aesthetic is Texas meets an upscale Red Dead Redemption (#iykyk).
Service is friendly, helpful and engaged without being intrusive. Ask for Alexis, she’s great!
I highly recommend this Downtown gem. Cheers!

Tried this place out and was not disappointed. First of all the interior is absolutely gorgeous! I could spend hours here, it’s such a vibe! The drinks were amazing, I brought my 2 year old and she enjoyed a tasty mocktail as well. I highly recommend trying the grilled corn, it was delicious. Service is fast and great, you can tell they pay attention to detail. I will definitely be back.

What Unbelievable Attention to Detail!!!

I stumbled across Anacacho today and was just absolutely floored!

Everything from floor to ceiling is a treat for the eyes: The pillows, mural, walls, wood work are all a total delight.

I had my first pumpkin spice latte of the season here, and it was wonderful, creamy, and not too sweet.

This is definitely a tourist spot, so expect tourist prices, but the vibe is comforting contemporary country, with a wink and a nod to the pace and quality of the old Texas west. Highly recommend

This was our first time visiting. This spot used to be the Ghost Bar of the hotel, but after the remodeling, it transformed into a Texas-themed cowboy bar. I really appreciated that they preserved and repurposed some of the hotel’s original decor, especially the large mirrors, which add a nice touch of elegance to the Western vibe.

The music and overall ambiance were spot on. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. The food was okay. We went during lunch, so perhaps the dinner menu is more flavorful and refined. We ordered the burger and the house salad; both were decent but nothing memorable.

Overall, it was a good experience, and the space has potential. Wishing for a better visit next time!

At the new Anacacho Coffee and Cantina at the Saint Anthony Hotel in downtown San Antonio for lunch.

The restaurant was inspired by West Texas’ Anacacho Ranch and was designed by interior designer Kim Wolfe who is a HGTV host and “Survivor” Season 24 Winner. The executive chef, Leo DaVila, is a James Beard Semifinalist and the former owner of Stix and Stones before it closed, a family favorite of ours.

We absolutely loved the french fries and our chicken sandwich and burger were also fantastic. Fun vibe and great service for this new restaurant.

Coffee tasted lovely (cortado). Super friendly staff. Loved the ambiance. Food was tasty, got it to go. It’s tucked inside a hotel but still easy to find. Beautiful furniture too. Seemed like a great selection on the menu. Next time I will make sure to sit in and enjoy the atmosphere more ! Highly recommend

By far, my new favorite restaurant in San Antonio. The food is fantastic! The flavors are so refreshingly unique and keep you wanting more. The atmosphere is really cozy and well designed. They just opened so you won’t see lots of reviews or may have not heard of them, but check them out! Be sure to ask for Scott, he was the best. Couldn’t recommend them enough. I’ll be back for sure!

Anacacho is a classy yet relaxed spot tucked inside the St. Anthony Hotel, offering an atmosphere that feels both timeless and intimate. The bartenders are not only attentive but genuinely passionate—one even offered me a taste of a local Texas whiskey, Lineage, which was surprisingly smooth and well-balanced. The food impressed too, with elevated flavors that match the elegant setting without being overdone. Whether you’re unwinding with a crafted cocktail or enjoying a quiet bite, Anacacho delivers a refined experience with a warm Texas touch.
