I guess they have the most varieties of the Japanese food here like udon(soup or yakiudon), ramen and sushi sashimi etc

The smoky mountain roll is definitely a must eat dish, balance of many raw fish and interesting seasoning

We ordered the chef’s special, and it exceeded our expectations. The chef did an incredible job, and the quality of the food was well worth the price. Highly recommended!

I’ve been to this restaurant twice. The first time my waitress was olivia, and she was amazing at making sure that everything was safe for my mother to eat because she has allergies and was incredibly kind and a great server the entire time. My husband and I were on a date and she helped us pick out amazing rolls and made it a terrific night for us with her friendly service. Tonight we came back and our server was stormy and she was also amazing She checked with the kitchen three separate times to make sure that my mother’s food was okay because my mom had questions. She was quick with her service and so friendly that it made my families night a great outing and i was so happy she was my waitress. I will definitely come back because the food is amazing and every time I come here, my family gets a great waitress.

I love to visit here, not only for the sushi selection, but for the chef’s artistry. We always order chef’s choice. The Ramen is great, as are the stir fry dishes. The staff is always friendly and attentive.

I love ramen, but there’s not many places around to get it. A friend had been telling me for a while that Anaba was great & had good ramen, so I should try it. Well, I finally did. Wow! This place has amazing ramen. So good that I went back 2 weeks later & I have to drive across town to get there.
The gyoza was also delicious. Probably the best I’ve ever had at a restaurant. When we went back, we went as a group. There was some of everything on the table – sushi, nigiri, apps, ramen, entrees, etc. Everyone seemed very pleased with their food.
Definitely a go to place!

I had high hopes when we decided to try this restaurant and walked in to it being packed at 7:15 at night on a Monday. However after a very long wait we were seated at a dirty table (the menus and the table had food on them even though the table was still wet).
I got the yakisoba and the flavor was good but it was a small portion and very greasy. We ordered the shishito peppers on special and they were almost raw). The sushi rolls we got were mediocre at best. The bathrooms were dirty and the food took forever to come out. Our server was trying her best but we didn’t even get our sushi bar items until we had finished our other dinner items.

Came here with a friend and had a really nice time. The atmosphere inside is peaceful and relaxing — perfect for catching up or just enjoying a quiet meal. The food was tasty, fresh, and well-prepared. We especially appreciated how attentive the servers were — they checked in often to make sure we had everything we needed.

One small thing we noticed: there didn’t seem to be any napkins at the table? Not sure if it was just that day or how they normally do it, but it stood out a bit.

Overall though, great experience and we’d definitely come back!

Anaba Japanese offers a delightful array of authentic Japanese cuisine that is definitely worth trying. I started with the crunchy shrimp sushi as an appetizer. I initially thought the shrimp would be fried, but it was raw, with a crunchy sprinkle on the outside of the roll. It was an interesting twist, though not what I expected.

For my entree, I had the teriyaki chicken with fried rice, served in a “fajita” style dish. The platter was very hot, which kept the food warm, but I personally prefer a traditional serving. The generous amount of teriyaki sauce made the dish quite runny and the rice soggy. A bit less sauce would have improved the texture. I paired my meal with a refreshing lemonade.

My partner ordered the eel and octopus sushi, which he found decent and filling. He particularly enjoyed his green tea, noting its authentic and rich flavor.

Overall, despite some minor preferences, the experience at Anaba Japanese Grill was positive. I look forward to giving this restaurant another chance to further explore their extensive and intriguing menu!

My wife and I dined her for the first time last night. We were greeted we we entered and decided to sit at the sushi bar. Our waitress greeted us and was very friendly . The menu is quite large but easy to navigate. I was glad to see that they had Saba on the menu ” mackerel ” it’s one if my favorites and hard to find in knoxville. We ordered our sushi and a large warm saki. The service was very good and our sushi looked good and tasted even better! I was very happy with what I ordered including the Anaba roll! I would definitely recommend. We will be returning!
