Today we stopped in at the Amura Japanese restaurant in Heathrow for nice relaxing lunch. We ordered the Sesame Chicken along with two sushi rolls (Tuna and Salmon) and everything came out exceptionally good.
The Sesame Chicken came out in the dinner portion and had that perfect balance of crisp texture and savory-sweet sauce. And the sushi rolls were exactly what I had in mind in terms of presentation and taste.
Overall, Amura delivered a solid, satisfying meal and a smooth dining experience. Definitely a reliable choice when you’re in Heathrow.

We had the absolute pleasure of being served by Tony, our Hibachi chef at Amura Japanese Restaurant, and he was phenomenal. His skill, energy, and professionalism elevated the entire experience. Tony was engaging, entertaining, and incredibly attentive, creating such a fun and welcoming atmosphere while preparing an amazing meal. Every dish was cooked to perfection, and his personality made the night even more memorable. If you’re dining at Amura, do yourself a favor and ask for Tony – he turns a great meal into an unforgettable experience.

Appetizers were delicious, had the tempura green beans and egg rolls. However, the main course was Mid. Ramen tasted like package ramen and was unseasoned and not at all spicy. Chicken tasted like bland boiled chicken. Don’t recommend the ramen at all. Sushi however was 8/10. Pretty good, had the krab rangoo rolls and dynamite roll.

The sushi here has major issues. First, the raw shrimp was not deveined. Second, the sushi rice was sickly sweet almost like candy — it ruined the entire order of food from the sushi bar. I ended up having to discard all the rice and didn’t eat the rolls I ordered. Our appetizer of Tempura Green Beans was wonderful and our server was fast and courteous. That said, I’ve never had sushi I didn’t like until now. I would not recommend eating here.

Good Food, Unfriendly Management.
My recent dining experience at Amura left me with mixed feelings. While the food was undeniably delicious, the overall ambiance and management left much to be desired, particularly for families with young children.
Upon arriving at the restaurant with two other families, we were promptly seated at a table equipped with high chairs despite having made a reservation. This seating arrangement was less than ideal for us, as we were accompanied by our 3 and 4-year-old children who naturally required more space to move around.
Throughout the meal, our children were happily playing and enjoying themselves, which as parents, brought us joy. However, our positive experience was abruptly interrupted when the manager approached our table in a manner that can only be described as rude. He chastised us for our children’s behavior, insisting that their playful antics were disturbing other guests.
Despite our bill totaling $503, which included a substantial gratuity, the manager’s attitude remained unchanged. His lack of empathy and professionalism marred what could have otherwise been a pleasant dining experience.
While I would recommend Amura for its delectable cuisine, I caution families with young children to consider the restaurant’s management policies before making a reservation. It’s disappointing that such excellent food is overshadowed by unwelcoming behavior from the staff.

I had the lunch box extravaganza which was a lot of food but the chicken teriyaki was not traditional way where you get a thigh or breast grilled with teriyaki sauce but sliced chicken pieces in sauce with no veggies. The veggie tempura was disappointing which was green beans fried in old oil which made it dark compared to the shrimp teriyaki. I liked the ginger scallion beef which had slivers of carrots and onions and highlight was the spicy tuna roll. If I were to come here again I would get hibachi and sushi and skip the teriyaki. The music was loud and sounded like I was in an arcade. Service was great. I would come here again and I got three meals out of my dish (added ramen to reduce amount of protein consumed)

This is my favorite hibachi place. The food is always prepared and seasoned well. It’s usually calmer than most hibachi establishments. I enjoy the more laid back atmosphere. Not 12 chefs thinking their pay is based on their decibel level during service. I don’t leave with a metal utensil noise induced headache. Toni is my favorite chef!

Fantastic sushi with a nice ambiance and great service, couldn’t ask for more. Harry our server is always so cheery and delightful. He knows what customer services, and keeps us entertained with a level of attentiveness you’d expect from a high end restaurant. The sushi is great quality and well presented. The decore is nice and inviting. There is outdoor seating as well. They have a nice sized bar inside as well. Note that this refers to the Lake Mary location. I can’t comment on any others.

A friend recommended Amura as a ladies dinner night out. The Hibachi was so fun! The ginger salad was simple, yet amazing. I had the two meat combo which I chose the chicken and steak, and I upgraded to the filet. The noodles, rice, vegetables and sangria were delicious. The chicken wasn’t bad, it’s chicken. The steak I ordered medium and it came out well. For an upgraded steak, I was hoping for the perfect piece of meat. I think next time I will try the steak that comes with it. In my opinion, the upgrade wasn’t worth it. But I will definitely be going back and i will probably order bouble veggies, they were delicious. I had so much food to take home as well.
