I’ve seen and heard of Amrut, but hadn’t marked it on my list or visited yet. I made a reservation for Sunday after a show at Martin Marietta. It’s right by Moore Square parking deck which is convenient. We were there early so no issues with searing. They also have a nice outdoor area but it was raining outside.

We were given a complimentary drink shot you put in a pastry and drink. It was a little spicy with other interesting but good flavors. We got Samosas and Chili Chicken to start. Both were excellent. The garlic cheese naan was super and cheeay. The chicken had good spice and the Samosas were fresh with mint and Tamarind chutney. We got Chicken Vindaloo extra spicey and the lamb Biryani. Both were spicy with great flavor and my Biryani had fabulous aromas. Everything was delicious and the service fantastic. Great experience.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spectacular Dinner Experience!

Amrut: Taste of India has officially set the bar for every Indian restaurant we visit going forward. Hands down the best Indian food we’ve ever had — every dish was bursting with flavor, perfectly spiced, and beautifully presented.

The service was exceptional from start to finish. The staff was warm, attentive, and happy to make recommendations that did not miss. The atmosphere felt elevated yet cozy — stylish décor, great lighting, and the kind of place that instantly makes you feel welcome.

Plus, the location is great — easy to find, plenty of nearby parking, and right in the heart of the action. This place is a true gem in Raleigh. We’re already planning our next visit!

Downtown Raleigh needed a place like Amrut! My boyfriend and I made a reservation for Valentine’s Day and were surprised to find out about the prefix menu – $100 total to try almost all of the dishes and a complimentary bottle of wine! The food was so flavorful and came out quickly. Our server Marlon was great and the Valentine’s decor was really nice. We recommend sitting upstairs for a more intimate experience. We’re excited to eat our leftovers!

I recently visited Amrut and absolutely loved it! Every dish I tried was full of flavor and totally hit the spot.

The Biryani was super aromatic and had just the right amount of spice, every bite tasted amazing. I also tried the Chicken Tacos, which had a Indian twist and were packed with flavor. The Indian style Pizza was loaded with toppings and that masala base was awesome. For dessert, the Jalebi was crispy, sweet, and fresh.

The staff was really friendly, the vibe was cozy, and the service was quick. Amrut is totally worth checking out. Highly recommend!

I got the Salmon Tandoor and it was absolutely phenomenal! The orange Tandoori sauce it was served with was divine; wonderfully savory with a hint of sweetness, I really couldn’t get enough of it. I was also very impressed with the amount of salmon I got for the price; I definitely hit (and probably exceeded) my minimum protein requirement of 50g with this dish! The fact that it’s carb-free also makes it an excellent choice for someone on a keto diet.

Aishwar was very kind, attentive, and greeted me as soon as I came in. The atmosphere is also excellent! Very calm and elegant. I’ll certainly be coming back here! Highly recommend this place!

We had a wonderful dining experience at Amrut Restaurant this Monday! We tried the veg chilli momos, paneer tikka masala, and garlic naan and everything tasted fresh and delicious. The chilli momos were definitely the highlight.

They even served pani puri as a complementary appetizer, which was such a nice touch. On top of that, they offer a student discount really appreciated!

The ambience was beautiful and relaxing, and the owner herself was very kind, friendly, and welcoming, which made the experience even better.

Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner and would definitely recommend Amrut to others! Great food, lovely atmosphere, and wonderful hospitality.

Max with Offline – We made a reservation for dinner at Amrut, and from the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for something special. The space is small in the best way. Warm, intimate, and inviting. We arrived a bit early, so we headed upstairs to relax while waiting for the rest of our party. The vibe was calm, the staff was friendly, and the attentive service set the tone for the entire evening.

Starters

Crispy Sesame Cauliflower
The flavor was on point, but the texture leaned more sautéed than crispy. It reminded me of squash simmered in a tomato forward sauce. Still, the seasoning carried the dish and kept it enjoyable.

Samosa Chaat
A beautifully presented dish with just the right touch of heat. The onions added a surprising boost to the overall flavor profile. Something I have not experienced in other samosa chaat dishes. A stand out starter for sure.

Chicken Soup
WOW. Absolute perfection. Perfectly seasoned, with grilled chicken that tasted incredible. The veggies added the perfect balance. Truly one of the best chicken soups I have ever had.

Garlic Cheese Naan
Soft, cheesy, and full of flavor. A perfect pairing with all of our entrees.

Main Dishes

Chicken Tikka Masala
The star of the show. Rich, flavorful, and incredibly balanced. Not overly spicy. Just perfectly done. My personal favorite of the night.

Butter Chicken
A very close second. This was authentic, deeply flavorful, and hit every note an excellent butter chicken should.

Chicken Biryani (Mild)
Even ordered mild, this dish packed a lot of heat. The spices were flavorful, but the intensity made it tough to fully enjoy. A great dish if you love extra spice.

Chicken Vindaloo
Ordered spicy, and it lived up to the expectation. Hot but flavorful, with layers of seasoning behind the heat.

Overall, the spices in every dish were spot on. Every bite felt like a true taste of India. I will absolutely be returning and soon.

A special shoutout to the bartender. He clearly knows his craft, mixing his own fresh juices and creating drinks that were both delicious and memorable.

The staff remained attentive the entire evening, ensuring we were comfortable and enjoying every course. To top it off, Amrut is family owned, and I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners. She was warm, welcoming, and truly hospitable.

I strongly recommend visiting Amrut. Raleigh has a gem here, and I am already excited for my next visit.

Very centrally located next to bus station and has street parking. Very good atmosphere and layout inside. We ordered mild chicken tikka, kofta etc; mild spice felt a bit more spicier.
Service was good. Pricier for momo appetizers for quantity!

The first time I went to this restaurant with two other people, I had a great experience. The owner, a kind lady, was very nice, and they offered us free pani puri samples (one for each of us). The food we ordered was tasty and well presented. The restaurant is located downtown and has a very nice ambiance. The experience impressed me so much that I brought a few other friends here (along with the ones from my first visit).
However, this time the experience was really bad. It felt like they were saving on air conditioning by not using it, as it was very hot and humid. Secondly, they were terrible at managing seating; half of the tables were empty, but they had crammed all 23 people in the restaurant onto three tables in a row, which made it very congested. The table beside us was dirty from the previous diners the entire time we were there, which kind of killed our appetite. On top of all this, the food was disappointing. We ordered paneer dosa, and it was the blandest food we’d ever had. Also, the pictures showed sambar, but they only gave us a dosa with filling inside, no sambar or anything on the side. There was no salt in the batter or the fillings, and it was so soggy that it couldn’t be eaten by hand or with a fork. The waiter came and asked about the food; we said that it lacked salt, and he placed the salt in front of us. We didn’t use it because the saltcellar had some food particles inside (attaching picture). Overall, I really had high hopes for this restaurant, and I loved the vibe, the food, and the lady owner (who told me how they had recently opened the restaurant just a couple of months back) when I went there the first time. I was completely let down on my second visit. My friends asked me to never take them there again. I’m never going back.
