We travel a lot and are always searching for good Italian food across Texas, and we’re very glad we chose this restaurant. The food was excellent, and the ambiance was warm and cozy, just like an old-style Italian restaurant.
Our waitress was very knowledgeable and gave great suggestions for authentic Italian combinations. They also serve homemade rolls which are very fluffy and delicious.
Overall, our experience was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area looking for authentic Italian food.
Truly, Michael made the experience with his expressive enthusiasm of the dishes. He gave us more recommendations for our next visit, which we are planning to be soon. I would definitely inquire with him on what you are looking to order, although I don’t doubt anything on the menu would be amazing.
Their in-house pasta is where they really shine, especially the tortellini. The sauce was packed with flavor, and you could tell the pasta itself was freshly made, not store-bought. They even use their own cheese blend inside, which makes such a difference and gives it a richer, more authentic taste.
We ordered the meatball calzone, minestrone soup, and the 3 Amore sampler with the lasagna, tortellini, and chicken parm, and every single dish hit. Truly a hidden gem and highly recommend!
Wish we would have taken photos of everything!
Everything came out super fresh!
The Amore’s sampler was a perfect trio of 3 different dishes.
Wish we would have saved room to try a dessert
I took my son out on a dad and son day to the mall and he mentioned he wanted Italian food. I found this place with high ratings and was excited to try it. We showed up on a Saturday during lunch and the place was empty except one person doing a pickup order. My son noticed it said seat yourself and so we did.
The waiter came out and took our drink order and left. Came back with 2 of the 3 we ordered and said he’d bring the other back out soon. 2 waters and a root beer. We never did receive that water, but if that was the only thing wrong, wouldn’t have been a big deal. We ordered the garlic bread with cheese as an appetizer. I was a little confused because I read where they bring out bread, but wasn’t too fussed about it. We eat the garlic bread and it was fine.
We ordered spaghetti and meatballs and the amore sampler. Right before the food came out the bread came out. Not a knock to them, totally on me as I could have asked and didn’t. The bread was good. It tasted homemade. That is the only thing that tasted homemade. The food came out and looked fine. My son made a comment about his meatballs being rubber. I tasted my food and it was 100% bland. The tortellini was ok, but tasted of nothing. I tried to cut the chicken Parmesan with my fork, not a dent. I tried it with a knife and basically had to rip it apart. The lasagna looked awesome. I was excited as it looked different and that’s not a bad thing. It was clearly microwaved. Cold in the center and piping hot on the outside.
I ate about 5 bites of my food and my son, who is a human garbage disposal ate half or a little more than half of his spaghetti. He left meatballs…
I jumped on and read the reviews and noticed there was a shift when the new owners took over. The reviews that recommended this place must have been from the previous owners because the food was terrible. The service stopped after we received our meal. Never saw the dude or the lady again and had to wait 5 minutes standing at the counter for someone to finally notice us so we could leave.
I don’t try to be knit picky, but this place is obviously not good. Could be my personal preference and that’s ok. I let the lady at the front know the food was not good. I didn’t want free food. I’m not a Karen. I paid for my meal and left. I just won’t be coming back. Not my cup of tea. I seriously considered going to Olive Garden afterwards and I despise Olive Garden, it was that bad.
Also, what I read a lot from the reviews was “you didn’t like it but you ate it.” Well, I’m including a picture of my food on the plate and I did not eat anywhere near most of it. 2-3 bites of each and I was done.
