Tonight I had a wonderful dining experience at Amore Italian Ristorante in Clermont, Florida. My family and I, who were staying at a nearby resort, decided to dine here and it was truly a delightful evening. The restaurant’s ambiance, decor, and food were all exceptional, creating a perfect atmosphere. I was especially impressed with the authentic flavors of their in-house made dishes. We started with the mouthwatering pizza bruschetta and calamari, accompanied by delicious bread. I opted for the Eggplant Rollatini and a house salad, which were both flavorful and satisfying. Being a Southerner, I couldn’t resist their sweet tea, which was just as I like it.

This was our first visit, and it did not disappoint. Our waiter, Aaron had great suggestions. We settled on sharing the Calamari appetizer, Mediterranean Salad and the Pizza Amore, which had prosciutto, arugula and shaved parmesan. The crust on the pizza was amazing. Along with the house Cabernet, amazing.

We had dinner there to try it out. It was quite busy there for a Thursday night, but we were seated in about 15 minutes. The decor was tasteful and upscale, not like a pizza shop as some Italian restaurants tend to be. They brought out warm loaf of bread with seasoned olive oil to dip your bread in. I love a good warm loaf of bread: crusty on the outside and soft on the inside! The 1st loaf is complimentary; any additional loaves would cost extra. We ordered calamari- it’s kind of how we measure how good the rest of the food would be. It was fresh and not a lot of breading, which I like, so you can taste the calamari more-delicious! Then, I ordered spaghetti carbonara, and my husband ordered the special, Lobster Papperdelle as did our son. Our other son ordered Fettuccine Alfredo.

My family of 3 dined here for an early dinner. I highly recommend arriving early or dining later. The restaurant is quite small. We had the mozzarella fritti, Taste of Italy, seafood risotto, and kid’s spaghetti and meatball. My husband kept trying to steal my daughter’s meatball. The tomato sauce is tasty and used as a base for many dishes. I tremendously enjoyed the glass of chianti which complimented my risotto nicely. I got the risotto on our server’s recommendation and could not have been more pleased with the depth and richness of flavors. We finished with the creme brulee which was also tasty.

Amore has great food. Space is small for the amount of business they draw. We got there at 6 pm and had a 40-minute wait. We sat at the bar and order some drinks while waiting for our table. Bar is small and again for the amount of business a second bartender will be nice. We got our drinks at 6:27 pm and got to our table at 6:40 pm. Order was taken at 6:54 pm and we got our food around 7:30 pm. We were out of there at 8:02 pm. We ordered chicken and veal saltimbocca and it was delicious. For desserts, we ordered a tiramisu and a crème brûlée. The tiramisu was awesome but the crème brûlée custard was kind of watery. Will I go again at 6 pm on a Saturday? I may not. Expect a 2-hour turnaround experience. There is always room for improvement. They have only been open for 10 weeks so more staff in the kitchen and dining area is a must. They are a scratch kitchen concept. Our server Lacey was awesome but you could notice how she tried to manage a lot of tables by herself. She always gave 150% quality service to our table with a big smile and courtesy. Mangia!

The quality of the food was phenomenal! I’m surprised the prices are low! The furniture sets a high class mood. The restaurant is a small space and it’s hard to hear people at your own tabel. It did take too long to be greeted at the host stand and the booth chair was covered in food crumbs. Nevertheless the food is worth the trip. Definitely recommend making a reservation.

One of the best Italian restaurants in all central Florida and a great addition to Clermont. The menu is extensive and every item ordered was incredibly fresh and delicious. Highly recommend the mozzarella sticks for appetizers. We’ll be back (very soon)
