Had a wonderful evening at Amigo Grill Restaurant, an Argentinian gem right in the heart of Amsterdam. The food was thoughtful and full of flavor the steak was tender, the soup comforting, and the fries perfectly crisp. The vegetables were also beautifully cooked, showing real attention to detail in every dish.
A special mention goes to Demian, who made the experience even more enjoyable. He was charming, welcoming, and spoke with me in Arabic, which made the conversation feel friendly and familiar. It’s clear he genuinely cares that every guest has a great time. The overall atmosphere felt warm and inviting a perfect mix of good food, great service, and cozy dining. Definitely a place worth visiting if you’re looking for authentic Argentine flavors and heartfelt hospitality in Amsterdam.

We stumbled across this place. One of the colleagues came out to speak to us about the menu. He was very welcoming. We wanted to see what else was around. After checking Google and noticing they had fantastic trip advisor reviews as well, we gave it go!
The service was super, friendly, warm and welcoming. The vibe was just right as we weren’t looking for anything too ‘boojie’. We placed our drinks order and food order. He remembered all of it without writing anything down. I’m always impressed by this. A nice restaurant/bar. Would highly recommend. I know I do a good steak, but this was by far one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten! It came on a hot plate, so it stays warm. I would definitely recommend a steak from here. The Calzones were huge! Another great option! Absolutely delicious too. Thank you very much Demian. A wonderful, enjoyable, warm experience. All the best with your future endeavours.

It was a great pitstop with unexpected hearty meal.
Hosts are friendly and provided good recommendation. Suggest the steak to be medium raw as it will be served on hot grill.

My partner and I went to this restaurant on New Year’s Eve, with a confirmed reservation, and arrived about 10 minutes early. From the very beginning, the experience was extremely disappointing.
Upon arrival, a waitress told us that our reserved table was “about to be freed” and asked us to wait at a temporary table next to the entrance. We were told this would only be for a few minutes. However, she immediately started taking our order and bringing food, while repeatedly assuring us that we would be moved to our proper table shortly.
Despite asking several times, we were never moved. The table we were left at was awful: right next to the door, with temperatures around 4°C, and the door constantly opening. Our food got cold, and I was literally freezing throughout the entire meal.
What made the situation even worse was that another couple arrived around 30 minutes after us and was seated at a much better table at the back of the restaurant — clearly a table that could and should have been assigned to us, given that we had a reservation and arrived earlier.
It became clear that we were lied to from the start and kept at that table so the staff wouldn’t have to deal with relocating us. After that, the waitress who initially handled the situation never returned, and another staff member had to take over.
This completely ruined what should have been a special night. A shocking lack of honesty, accountability, and respect for customers — especially on New Year’s Eve and with a confirmed reservation.
I would not recommend this place and will not be coming back.
