Looking for a quick grab & go bite in Indianapolis? Make sure to stop by Amelia’s for the best fresh-baked pastries and bread in town! We enjoyed the rhubarb tart, the ham and cheese biscuit, and more! Each pastry was fresh and unique. The cool part about this spot? There is a daily loaf schedule featuring new items! You can expect a bit of a line while you are there because of its popularity, but the line moves super quick because of great service! There are fresh snacks and refrigerated items that would be perfect for a date night or charcuterie board. Stop by Amelia’s and try the rhubarb tart…I promise you will love it!

I came across Amelia’s on social media and had to try it after I saw pictures of their bakery items!
We tried foccacia and bruschetta, cranberry walnut bread and peach jam, sweet potato pies, an orange vanilla cheese danish, and a blackberry goat cheese danish. Everything was wonderful! My family loved everything, especially the foccacia.
The staff was friendly. The store looked great. I even had a great conversation with a customer who overheard it was my first time visiting and told me how much she loves Amelia’s.
10/10 recommend! 🙂

The pullman loaf is like lace in the worst way possible. Doesn’t hold up even as toast and literally crumbles in your hand. $4 for a half loaf of air is crazy. Pullman should be a soft, fine crumb square bread. This was misshapen due to lack of structural integrity. Maybe other breads there are good but I won’t be wasting my money to find out.

This is my favorite bakery in the city for grab and go. They have a great variety of items to pair with their freshly baked breads and pasties. I recommend checking out their sandwich of the day or local spreads and salads that you won’t be able to find anywhere else. Check out the semolina bread that is so aromatic once toasted or the capicola twist.

This shop was very cute! I enjoyed the selections of products along with the food I got. I got a half loaf and it seemed like it still went bad quickly. The brownie I got was very delicious; great blend of salty meets sweet chocolate. The person there was nice and told us about the special along with some conversation! Great place, will be fun to come back.

First off—pastries were delicious! The cinnamon crossisant was super buttery and the tomato ricotta danish was seasoned greatly—very tasty. Secondly, the service was impeccable. When a man entered the store and became aggressive they kindly led us into the back part of the building and called the police. After police arrived they offered us free treats and pastries, which we took them up on. Overall, they were very caring and sincere. We were very grateful and amazed by how they calmly handled the situation. We will definitely be returning, hopefully by then they’ll have their broken window fixed!

Time to update this review with a little more depth. Connected to Bluebeard, this gem produces some of the finest breads and treats in all of Indy…rivaled only by the Blue Oven Bakery in Cincinnati.
Baguettes, specialty loaves, Cranberry-Walnut bread, croissants, oatmeal pecan cookies, panforte (Christmas time), and so much more. Everything is good…everything. My only wish is that they had a location up north in Carmel.
It’s a little on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for. Get whole loaves, half loaves, and sliced/unsliced. They do have a small selection of meats, cheeses, and Italian good in the store as well. If they sold wine it could be a one stop shop for a nice outing in the park.
