Went in myself for dinner around 7.40pm on a Tuesday. Didn’t book.
Nice welcome, menu, asked what drinks I wanted.
Ordered vegetable spring rolls and chicken curry with chips. Minutes later a bowl of prawn crackers and 2 dips arrived.
Meal was lovely. Couldn’t fault it. Will be back.

So disappointed in this place, It came recommended as well! Went on a Saturday night with family and the starters were average at best but the worst part was the main course. If you like curry please avoid, the sauce was extremely tame, no heat to it whatsoever and the chicken was cheap. We were nearly 200 pounds for 4 of us and that was soft drinks as well and only 2 of us had 3 courses, me and my daughter in law had 2 and that was disappointing enough for us. Won’t be back.

Came to the Amber Regent today for Christmas lunch , it was busy as to be expected – My mum was running late by 15 mins but when she arrived the staff where clearly in a rush to get us out the door -. The attitude of the staff was horrible, especially the waitress who took our order. She was so rude, from the minute she arrived at the table, to the point in fact, that I actually said to her “You don’t need to speak to me like that” this was all because I didn’t realise there was more than one option for “Mini veg spring rolls” I would have thought that would have been enough for her not to need to throw the menu at me and yell THEY ARE ALL HERE ,YOU NEED TO PICK ONE THEY ARE ALL MINI SPRING ROLLS ! – Her attitude took me by such surprise and she shook me so much, that I total got into a fanckle and couldn’t remember what I was ordering for my main as I was on verge of tears, – Her whole attitude with our table was horrible , my friend also had allergies and she spoke to her in a rude tone too. They practically flung our food at us and we had to chase for the bill 3 times & follow the server round the place while they tried to find the card machine. We then had to go pay at the door which was in the way of servers who again where rude when asking to get past – It was also majorly over priced for the quality but that’s just a personal opinion ( £40 a head for tasteless mini spring rolls , chicken balls fried rice and curry sauce & 2 cokes! ) – We understand it’s Christmas and the restaurant will be run off their feet & stressed but that is not excuse to be rude & unwelcoming- the server did apologise when I pulled her up but it totally ruined what should have been a nice afternoon – Not enjoyable and I certainly wouldn’t go back.

Absolutely beautiful place and loved the food and service!! All was great, I had Satay chicken and my boyfriend had the garlic and plum duck. We both enjoyed our meal so much and we wished we had room for pudding but unfortunately our bellies were quite a bit full. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to go out for a date night!!

Admittedly, it’s not one of my best food photos, but you know the foods great if I’ve scooped it onto my plate before I’ve taken a picture. Great restaurant, friendly attentive staff, lovely atmosphere. Family have been coming to this restaurant for decades, once or twice a year at least. Would recommend and will be back.

Shockingly expensive for mediocre food! The setting was lovely but £25 for a chicken curry with boiled rice is way over its worth! The chicken in the curry looked liken it was butchered from armpits of depressed caged chickens!
