Brunch is amazing! Chilaquiles was 10/10. Avocado toast was beautiful & delish! The crepes were phenomenal & you have to try the churro waffles as well. The service and live music were great as well. Shoutout to Jon Standifer singing his heart out.

Cool joint. Open layout, super clean, not too loud (but I bet it’ll be on a busy night).
The first question I got, once seated, was : which salsa do you want? I wish other places asked that. For me, always, the hottest, of course!
The chips are so good! Light, crispy, lightly salted. Best I’ve ever had.
Ordered the pork enchiladas (I never make enchiladas at home) and they are terrific.
Service was great. Attentive but not overly so.
Some high-top tables but most are low with about 6 having padded benches for half. Nice. There is also some sidewalk seating on the shaded north side.

This place was unfortunately a rip-off. They charge $23 for steak and shrimp fajitas which consisted of 5 shrimps, and 4 small pieces of steak covered by a bunch of green peppers and onions to make the plate seem full. They charge premium prices for an average (if that) restaurant. When we asked they initially said they’d bring out a small bowl with extra steak as the waiter seemed to agree with us regarding the complaint about the portion. She came back with “if you still want the extra steak, we’ll have to charge extra”. We were told they were out of rice and offered to give us extra beans. Honestly, didn’t seem extra to me but could have been given the portion of the food… The size of the tortillas were comparable to that of silver dollar pancakes and it came with 3 of them. Also, if you ask for extra, you’ll get charged $1 for 3 tiny ones. The service was slow and the waitress seemed to be forgetful of anything we requested. Now I should mention that the food was tasty. I did find the steak to be tough however the seasoning and the shrimp was really good. The chips were light and to my taste, a little too salty but I’m sure a lot of people enjoy them that way. The exterior of the restaurant was infested with huge spiders that you had to dodge while walking in and out. One last remark, the bathroom was gross. There were feces on the side of the toilet seat…

Excellent food. Like that they have local craft beer on top of having real Mexican beers. The owner and staff are friendly and nice to talk with.

Food was done quicker than estimated, friendly staff handed me the food. I didn’t eat in today even though I love this place and they are always super friendly and the atmosphere is very chill. I got the chicken & chorizo chimi with some queso on the side and it definitely hit the spot. One of my go-to places when I don’t want to be disappointed.

Went for their first pop-up brunch. Everything was AH MAZING! I got the French toast made with fresh sourdough bread, berries, and whipped cream. My husband got the homemade hash with chorizo, potatoes, cheese, and tortilla chips. I know there were some other things in it but don’t remember lol. It was soooo good and fresh. Our waiter, I believe his name was Diego (sorry if that’s not right) was on it. Very attentive and made sure we were never needing anything. Now if they could maybe do brunch on Saturdays and do a sampler plate with the waffles, crepe, and French toast that would make it a 20 out of 10 I wanted to try it all. Can’t wait for the next brunch! Great job Amaya’s

My partner and I came in for a lunch date (about 1:15 pm on January 22nd, 2026) to our favorite restaurant. We already love the place based on past experiences, but this one was the best we’ve had. The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating, getting us a great table surrounded by the great art work and mural, and we’re immediately given the best tortilla chips and salsa ever made at a Mexican restaurant. So fresh, so warm. It literally heated our bodies up from the chilly cold outside.
My partner ordered the Texas Burger, cooked medium and I had the seafood quesadilla. Within fifteen minutes, we received our food and with that first bite, we were in heaven. His burger was so juicy and seasoned to perfection, with the crispy onions straws giving it the perfect crunch to the burger. My quesadilla was so delicious, with the lobster, crab and shrimp cooked to perfection, so light and tasty. In an attempt to not sound crass, it was a Meg Ryan moment as soon as the first bite hit my tongue. The conversation we were having came to a sudden stop, as we were revelling in the scrumptious edible feast we ordered.
We received the bill, which came to $39.12. We immediately knew they earned a well deserved tip. So we rounded up to $50 and we happily went on our way to be delightfully sated and stuffed.
Honestly, the best place for Mexican food in the area and great ambience for a good lunch and dinner date with a loved one or with friends. Amaya’s, you’re the best. Keep it up!

I can’t leave enough fantastic commentary about Amaya’s. The hostess asked if it was our first time, stating she didn’t recognize us, which was super sweet. It was our first time. Owner, Tino Amaya came and introduced himself and thanked us for coming. The food was absolutely incredible. Portions were out of this world (we will have leftovers for a second dinner this evening and lunch tomorrow). Arguably the best Mexican joint in an 60 mile radius. Emily was a super sweet, friendly waitress. We will be back soon!

We frequent Amaya’s in downtown Monroe. Excellent food and atmosphere.

We also were fortunate to get Amaya’s for catering our son’s wedding. Most people assume he just does Mexican food. Tino is an amazing chef. We had a salad bar, rolls, chicken cordon Bleu, steak marsala, au gratin potatoes, a green bean salad, mostaciolli, etc. He is able to provide the bar, staff, linens, silverware, etc. The food was excellent and people kept commenting how it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding.
Forever grateful to Tino.
