Thank you to the staff for an exceptional birthday experience. Our waiter, a middle aged gentleman, was exceptionally sweet and KEPT wishing me well. The literal type of feeling like your own dad can’t stop telling you how proud he is of you LOL! His demeanor was so wholesome. I’ve been to many fine dining, but they definitely don’t make you feel as great as Amar does.

The food, service, and view was great. I would definitely recommend and look forward to coming back.

Great fine dining. I spent my birthday here and the night view is really good. I’d recommend looking at the menu in advance to see what dishes suit your taste — it makes the experience even better.
The mushrooms were exceptional — wonderfully fresh with a rich, umami flavor. Highly recommended. The service was great. I appreciate it.

My wife chose Amar as a part of her birthday celebration. Maybe I was a kind of over excited. The atmosphere was great! nice and quiet. We took a lot of pictures. We ordered a seafood tower as appetizer, it came with 6 pieces of shrimp cocktail, 6-8 pieces of oysters, couple small cups of blue fin tuna ceviche and lobster ceviche. I ever tasted any blue fin tuna ceviche like this with extremely strong fishy smell. We can’t even take the second bite and just leave it there. I have to informed this the server when they asking feedback. And the answer was like the 1st Gen ChatGPT : I will give this feedback to kitchen without any follow up after. I have to drink a lot of water even order the 2nd cocktail drinks to cover that fishy smell last in my mouth. I can’t find any highlights or memory points from the entries and sides. Even I have that kind of feeling at the end that liked: I finished this dinner finally. We paid $400 at the end, but we don’t have any flashpoints that make us go back to try something again.

First time dining at Amar inside Raffles Boston in Back Bay was truly an unforgettable experience.

We chose the Chef Curated Dining option, and Chef Mert did not disappoint. Every course was intentional, elevated, and beautifully presented. The oyster with caviar and salmon ceviche was incredibly fresh and perfectly balanced…delicate yet full of flavor. The red snapper crisp paired with pickled fennel, extra virgin olive oil, and hazelnut muhammara was layered, vibrant, and absolutely memorable.

The tasting experience felt thoughtfully paced, allowing us to truly enjoy each dish. The service was impeccable, attentive, knowledgeable, and warm without ever feeling intrusive. You can feel the passion behind every plate and every detail in the room.

Thank you, Chef Mert. We will be back!

A Disappointing Dining Experience Despite Lovely Ambiance

I had great expectations from Amar, but unfortunately, the overall dining experience fell far short of what I hoped for. While the ambiance was truly wonderful—warm, elegant, and inviting—the service and meal execution left much to be desired.

Our server took a long time to come to our table to take the order, and the food arrived very late as well. Although the paired wines were thoughtfully selected and tasted excellent, they were served well before the food courses, which disrupted the pairing experience entirely.

We opted for the Chef Curated Dining option, expecting a special menu showcasing the restaurant’s creativity. However, this was quite disappointing—the dishes were simply selections from the regular menu, not exclusive creations. Given the promise of a chef-curated experience, this felt misleading and not worth the $100 per person price tag.

The meal itself featured Scallop Ceviche, Mushroom Gnocchi, a Duck Entrée, and Chocolate Mousse for dessert. While the food tasted fine, it was nothing remarkable. The scallop ceviche portion was very small, and the duck had a chewy texture, making it difficult to enjoy. We had specifically chosen Amar hoping for an exceptional seafood-focused experience, especially after traveling to Boston for a birthday celebration, but were let down by the minimal seafood offerings and ordinary preparation.

Overall, while Amar has a beautiful atmosphere and decent wine pairings, the slow service, mismatched timing, and underwhelming chef’s menu make it hard to recommend. For the price, the experience simply didn’t meet expectations.

I visited Amar on Sep 5th to celebrate my best friend’s birthday, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. I’d been eyeing this spot for a while, and I’m glad we finally visited. The host and staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive. The first thing that caught my eye was the stunning view. The dining room was tinted with a golden hue from the setting sun. If you go, request a window seat— the view alone could justify the visit. Since it was our first visit, we opted for the chef’s prix fixe menu, which turned out to be both beautiful and a little too consistent. The amuse-bouche was a tart, soft in texture, as were the rest of the courses. By the end, I couldn’t quite finish my courses— not because I didn’t enjoy them, but because the consistency made it a bit heavy by the end. Next time, I’ll try à la carte and mix things up a bit!

Just a spectacular dinner. The wine was not overpriced and was utterly delicious. The food was equally delicious. The service was wonderful. No pressure. One of the most relaxing meals I’ve ever had. Thank you to the staff. We will be back.

Had a wonderful tea gathering with my sons at Amar in Boston! Located on the 17th floor with a breathtaking view of the city. The tea and desserts were delightful, the music set a cozy and pleasant atmosphere, and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommend for a special family outing!

Amar is a fantastic dining experience with an unbeatable view from the 17th floor of the Raffles Hotel. The atmosphere is modern, upscale, and relaxed, with a great vibe that adds to the overall experience.

Service was attentive and professional, and I appreciated that they offered gluten-free options on the menu.

For appetizers, I had the bass crudo, scallops plate, and wagyu skewers—each one was exceptional, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. For the main course, we tried the branzino special and the sea bass, both cooked perfectly and full of freshness.

Overall, a memorable evening with top-tier food, excellent service, and stunning views. Highly recommend.

Just had an excellent dinner here!! They recently changed the menu and I was a big fan of the new menu. Plates were all stunning and I’m glad we got to try so many things. The halibut definitely stood out as well as the quail and the salted cod. I also really enjoyed the nata dessert. Since we tried most of the items on this menu, I might not come back until they change the menu again, but I would still recommend for a nice night out.
