I just left a 4-star review a couple of days ago on doordash praising their consistency, but this order completely changed my mind. I ordered okra again, and as you can see in the photo, it’s literally just stew—no okra at all. What’s the point of that? We pay delivery fees and tip on top of it, and I personally always tip well. Charging nearly $30 just to send stew is ridiculous

I’m really disappointed with this place. The food is not authentic at all. I’ve been to a lot of Nigerian restaurants in Houston, and honestly places like Chef Benny’s, Didi’s BBQ, Titola, and even Taste of Nigeria are all way better for the price.

I ordered one small portion and one amala with three meats, and the meat was hard and tough. The beef was almost impossible to chew. The egusi had no real flavor — it just tasted like nonsense. And for $28, the portion was tiny.

Me and my friend spent $58 total, and the food was small, not fresh, and definitely not worth the money. We could have gone to any of the other spots I mentioned and spent maybe $40 for better, hotter, fresher food.

It’s been two years since I last came here, and now I see why my dad stopped bringing me. Never coming back. Unacceptable.

We ordered our food online and it was delivered promptly. The portions were a good size. The Egusi soup was not tasty. It lacked an authentic flavor and I’ve had better. I was disappointed. I should’ve adhered to the reviews before ordering.

I see why I stopped coming here. Came here yesterday after months because I was craving amala. $90 for two Amala and ofada that tastes like nonsense. The food quality has gone down! The restaurant SMELLS like sewage! Omg! Like why does my Ofada rice have the same smell has your shop? The way she hypes her restaurant online is not the same experience you get in person. At some point we have hold our people accountable. How can you open at 12pm but not service people until 45mins later. There were so many people outside waiting while the owner strolled in with a wig in her hand a makeup box! The employees behave as if they are being forced to work, zero customer service. Seriously do better. Never again

If you want to taste Great Nigerian food, this is a good start and right in the middle of Houston. They have a good variety of plates to choose from so the opportunity to try is great. The parking is free and the prices are very reasonable.

I first came across amalazone on Instagram. So, last Sunday my family decided to have lunch there. Myself and my daughter opted for gbegiri and ewedu with amala while my husband had efo riro.
My daughter said the soup was salty but to me it had no taste. I could not eat it. She also did not eat hers (for someone who loves gbegiri and ewedu). We just ate our goatmeat and left the rest. The lady cleaning up asked if we needed a to go when she noticed the food was barely touched. I was too disappointed.
My husband said his efo riro was good and asked if I’ll like to have some of his but I had already lost my appetite.
Not going back there. But you can try your luck……

It’s a good place to eat your African cuisine, many good African delicacies. I went for the local rice, and I enjoyed it. The price is however on the high side. There was plenty of parking space.

Last time I was here, the service was not so good but it was manageable. This time, oh my days! Firstly, I am wondering who advised the owner to make the place look like a fast food restaurant (someone said its because of Covid).

Secondly, with all the money made in this place, you would think that the owner would provide a staff room where her employees can eat without probing eyes of hungry customers. How do you expect your customers to feel when they see your employee eating at the food counter? (I wanted to take a picture but it would be unfair to the hardworking lady who just needed to have her lunch).

Thirdly, so back to the “fast food queue tingy”. So we stood at the queue for more than 15mins to 20mins (remember one of the employees was eating) so it was just one person serving the entire long queue of about 10 pple waiting for food. If you want to fashion your restaurant in a fast food manner, I would expect you learn from other successful fast food restaurants how it’s done.

Fourthly, the inside of the restaurant seems to have deteriorated from the last time I was there. The restaurant now has the weird smell and I guess it’s from the display of food.

So in summary, this place is a combination of horrible service with a nice food.
I will not recommend because if the restaurant looks that dirty, then the kitchen will definitely be an eyesore.

I paid Amalazone through Zelle for an order, but it was never delivered. When I asked for a refund, the seller promised to send it but it’s been hours and I’m still waiting and haven’t received anything.
It’s really disappointing and unprofessional to promise a refund and not follow through. I wouldn’t recommend ordering from Amalazone until they learn to handle their customers’ money responsibly.

I’m sharing this so others can avoid the same situation.

Wanted to give them a try. Drove 40 miles to buy soup only to be disrespectfully informed that because the portion remaining was small, that I could only be sold a small container. No apologies. Food was ok.
