Like the atmosphere and we didn’t have a great experience with the food or service. The chicken wings are something to avoid and the pizza was good. Would recommend for pizza only based on our experience. Had a couple of their ipas and wasn’t too impressed with the quality. The crowd and the restaurant was very nice with friendly people.

Environment is cool and the location is great in downtown Long Beach. Would go back to try the pizza.

Such a great experience. Historic building could not be better atmosphere. Chicken wings were the best day ever had and I’m not a big fan of chicken wings, but they sounded enticing we’ll definitely go back for more.

The ambiance & romance this venue provides is beautiful. Hearing the Beatles music performed by violins & cello was amazing. We only had wine at the venue, no food. The musicians are wonderful. The setting extraordinary! We cannot wait to see another Candlelight performance, but will purchase tickets earlier. Unfortunately we were in C section due to ordering late. There were, however, a good 12-14 empty seats in front of us which makes me wonder. Next time we will move up once we see no one showing up.

My review is for the café at the back that I’ve had the pleasure going to a couple of times in the morning. The iced lattes I’ve ordered were honestly quite decent, with house made additional flavors that make the quality distinct from other cafés. The breakfast selection is simple with an option for a breakfast burrito or a breakfast sandwich, and after trying each one on a different visit made it another great breakfast option in the DTLB area. Also the price for sustenance was quite decent with the sandwich being $10 and the burrito for $13, when other places in the downtown area can be a bit more bourgeois in terms of price. The building is also lovely, and the back space for the café has its own charm, with its smaller size making it a bit more cozy. I would have to try their restaurant when I can, but the café is a winner for downtown Long Beach ✨

We were visiting in Long Beach from Colorado because we had to dog sit our grandog for 2 weeks. We love coffee and our Broncos. That weekend they were playing the Bills. We stumbled upon Altar Society and watched the second half of the game there. When we walked in wearing our Broncos gear there was another local young couple there wearing theirs. They immediately clapped as we walked in so we sat next to the table next to theirs to have appetizers and a dessert. It was a fun game to watch with other fans. The food was good. The next morning, we walked over there to check out their Coffee since we noticed that they also offer coffee and muffins. What a unique concept. We need an Altar Society near us in Colorado. GO Broncos!

Altar Brewing has a great location and a spacious, inviting atmosphere in the historic Masonic Temple. The staff is friendly and the overall vibe is enjoyable for a casual outing. However, I found their lagers and pilsners to be lacking in flavor and not very memorable compared to other styles. While they do well with some of their other brews, the core lagers and pilsners didn’t quite hit the mark for me. It’s a decent spot to visit, but I’d hope for more depth and character in their lighter beers.

I’ve been to Altar twice for the events they throw upstairs. They have greatly improved on the experience you receive when attending their shows. I went this Friday for Secret Service event and it was a very enjoyable experience. They had two floors of music, live entertainment and painting during the show. The drinks were affordable as well! I will say that the bathrooms were a bit unpleasant and had long lines, but I just stayed downstairs to stay away from the smell. They did seem to provide additional restrooms to accommodate for the capacity.

I have yet to visit their actual restaurant, but it on my to-do list of food places to try. It’s evident they care about the experience their community has and I would love to further support this establishment.

This place is awesome! The building has a lot of character and there is plenty of seating. We came with a large group and sat immediately. The staff was super friendly and fast. They have a great selection of beer and the food was really good too! We will definitely be coming back here regularly.

Beautiful and spacious new Brewery on Pine Ave, downtown Long Beach. Delicious house-made beer (we love the west coast IPA), thin and crispy pizza, fully stocked cafe, event space and more. Pretty impressive all around, plus the staff has been super friendly! We look forward to coming here for a long time.
