This was our first time but it definitely won’t be our last. Atmosphere feels welcoming and like you’re coming to visit family. Everyone was awesome and checked on us throughout our dinner making sure everything was good. Eli was an awesome server!! Let me tell you that the food exceeded expectations. Everything was amazing. The ribs were tender and juicy. I’ve never had fried chicken so tender and juicy. Tell a friend to tell a friend to meet you there!!!

I liked the mom and pop feel of the place but the ribs were not done properly. They were dry and hard. Burnt. They also got stuck in my teeth. The Baked beans were good.

Tucked inside a cozy converted house, this barbecue joint in Tampa feels like a true hidden gem. The warm atmosphere and friendly staff make you feel like you’re stepping into a family gathering, and the food brings that same homemade comfort. I was hoping for short ribs, but their sandwich was a great alternative, packed with flavor. The okra with tomatoes was tasty, though I’d love to see classic fried okra on the menu in the future. Overall, the food was delicious, and the experience felt like home. Can’t wait to come back!

The absolute best fried chicken I’ve ever had! The Mac and cheese and potato salad were delicious as well. The smother pork chops were incredibly moist and well seasoned. Fried okra was flavorful and not greasy. The pulled pork and ribs were perfectly smoked, not overpowering and still very moist. We will absolutely be back! The only small draw back was that it was very warm inside the restaurant. The owner came out to check that everything was good and the wait staff got our entire table of 6 people’s orders correct. Such a great dinner!

This is by far the worst barbecue I’ve ever had- who serves a plain hamburger bun as bread? Tore my stomach up three ways from Sunday- NEVER AGAIN!

If you’re craving soul food in Tampa Bay, look no further! ️ Al’s Finger Licking Soul Food is where my heart (and stomach) belongs. The chicken has me in a delicious chokehold, and the collard greens taste just like Grandma used to make! Paired with a side of apple juice, I’m instantly transported back to my childhood. This place is pure magic! ✨

I need to start off by saying that this place will not disappoint. Sauce! You will find yourself not using it, even though they give you a very tasty bbq sauce with your order. Each different meat has amazing flavoring and juices that you have to try to appreciate. I ordered a 3 meat plate, ribs, chicken and pulled pork and an extra order of 1/2 slab of ribs. The staff was great with that home town feeling. If you love bbq this is the place to try. It feels like you were invited to their home for a good home cooked meal.

The picture is worth a thousand words I’m a southern man and this was a pork chop sandwich made to perfection. I love that I didn’t know how to dress the sandwich so the staff said you want the works then!! It was flavorful not overpowering just real good pork chop cooked to order and the okra was a great portion size and tasted really good. We were looking for something good and close to the ports this did it. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. We will eat here every time we come back!!!

I was looking for something filling on my way to a concert, and I’m really glad I picked this place.

First, the atmosphere: this joint is really small, but it smells great, and it just kinda feels like a “this is where people eat” sort of place. I’m sure that makes sense.

The staff are friendly and the service is fast as hell for the quality of food you’re getting. The guys there today just struck me as honest, hard-working dudes.

The food was filling, delicious, and surprisingly unique. The baked beans were fantastic and unlike anywhere else I’ve had. The mac and cheese felt very homemade, but in the best way. I ordered turkey for my meat and it was actually tender and moist. Delicious. The envy of every thanksgiving dinner. I don’t know if their BBQ sauce is in-house or not, but it was also very good.

All in all, super solid place to get some real southern feeling barbecue. I loved it.

Next time I’m in the area, I’ll probably go back. I wish this place was in my town.

Being from Kansas City, I think I’m a good judge of BBQ, and this is great BBQ! Ribs were perfect. Went at almost closing time and sad they were out of rice with chicken side dish and also out of banana pudding. Quick, friendly service. Reasonably priced. Homey atmosphere.
