Update from Dec. 19, 2025:
Sadly, this place has changed owners. The phenomenal staff has either left or been let go, the food prices have skyrocketed, the food is average at best (my friend wouldn’t even eat his burger, he disliked it so much), the tartar sauce tasted like straight mayonnaise, the cole slaw was bland and there was no butter on my baked potato. The whole experience was disappointing.
I saw one couple walk out without eating.
I’m eating my leftovers now…not because I want to, but because I paid so much for this food, that I’m forcing myself to eat it.
One good point: They have Ginger Beer and it was only $2.50. I’m sure that was a mistake. But being a non-drinker (new thing for me), it was a nice surprise.

This is my very favorite place. Excellent place to take a date for a romantic dinner. Excellent place to have a family dinner. Great food. I used to go there twice a week. The wait staff is superb. Large windows behind the bar show various wildlife, depending on the season.

I went to this place based on Google reviews. Overall rating is well over 4.5 stars. I should’ve read most recent reviews. Horrible experience getting dinner here. The place is in the middle of nowhere. Upon arriving I was seated at the table and no one approached me for good 15 minutes. The whole place had only two servers that were extremely overwhelmed.
Multiple items on the menu were not available. It took me over an hour to order food and order it. I order a burger. The food was mediocre at best. The service is non existent. I wouldn’t waste your time driving here.

We had a reservation on a Saturday evening and were seated immediately. Our waitress was kind, attentive, and efficient, and the food was absolutely delicious. The filet mignon was excellent. We were celebrating a birthday, and the waitress went above and beyond by surprising us with a slice of cake and a candle, which was such a thoughtful touch. The manager was also walking the floor all evening, checking in with tables and making sure everyone was satisfied. A wonderful experience all around. We will definitely be back!

So not every day can be the best day… that said going here for my 40th must have been their worst. I have always wanted to go here so we ended up getting the earliest reservation we could 8pm. We had to wait till 8:30 to be seated(it was super busy). My parents(in their 80s) were leaning towards leaving after we were told after we ordered that there was no prime rib, and no salad. Not a big deal. I got the cowboy rybye and it was completely unseasoned, just sautéed in butter or cooked on a flattop. My mother got cold salmon, and my dad… almost died. He is on blood thinners and if the sharp ziptie that was in the noodles that came with his rouladen would have gotten stuck in his throat… that would have been a birthday I would never forget.
So, if you plan on going, make sure you get an early reservation, and hope they are having a good day. Again things happen, but this was three strikes in one visit. I am not going to go back, wish it would have been different. Try it yourself, and maybe you will get the experience I had hoped for.

Had dinner there last night. Table of 4 right in front of the kitchen door. Everything was awesome! I’ve travelled over an hour to dine at this restaurant on 3 previous occasions over the years, but was somewhat apprehensive going into it this time around, because of the new ownership and some mixed reviews I had read. Fortunately, they must have gotten all the kinks out because we couldn’t have asked for a better dining experience. I dinged my rating by 1 point for the loud atmosphere & tight tables, but there’s really nothing to improve on here. The low ceiling of an old building can’t be changed, and if they eliminated any of the tables, they’d have to turn away even more people. I’d definitely like to go back, but others might prefer a quieter space. I had chicken Marsala for about $23(?). It was absolutely delicious!!! It came with soup or salad and a choice of a side. I got a salad & mixed vegetables, which were both great & well above average quality. Delicious food at a very good price point. Love the windows behind the bar too! Employees were all friendly. I felt totally appreciated, even though I was only one of many diners 🙂

Very nice cozy place to have a good dinner. I had a steak and I’ve tried the eggplant appetizer sticks. They were really good. The first time I’ve ever had eggplants. Everybody was nice. The waitresses were nice. It was very pleasant to have dinner with coworkers. I don’t have any complaints. Great service great atmosphere.

Wonderful young lady very attentive.appetizers we had bacon wrapped water chestnuts. They were wonderful. I had twin pork chops outstanding.
