A diamond in the desert. We found this place heading out of town and are glad we stopped. I highly recommend the Pu-Pu Platter as an appetizer. The shrimp and fried pot stickers also made our appetizer list, both were great. For our main courses, we had orange chicken, sesame chicken and cashew shrimp. All dishes had ample portions and tasted great. Going out of town past the Hampton Inn, look for it on the left. See outside picture so you don’t miss this awesome little restaurant.

The place was pretty spacious and also clean from in and out. Went here during Lunch Time, hoped we knew that the buffet is dinner time.

Cashier was nice and not rushing.

Food was not as we expected. Ordered General Chicken was different and with mildly taste of fish sauce. Buttered Shrimp that you can’t taste butter and it’s fried – it was good but you can taste the fishiness and they didn’t clean the shrimp before frying.

We will try to eat here again if there’s a chance but will not order the same food.

Oriental Express- It’s Basic Chinese Food, its really tasty & I do leave satisfied. If you don’t want buffet, your welcome to order off the menu. It’s pricy compared to the other Chinese restaurant in town. I do like the food here, I do like the simplicity of the food served on the buffet, it’s not overwhelming at all, and ice cream is served here. It’s not bad at all, & the service is great to!

It was honestly pretty darn good. The coconut shrimp was awesome. The lomein was pretty good too. We came in kind of late and we where worried that we wouldn’t get fresh food and instead we would get the left overs, but that very much was not the case. There was a very nice young man who asked if we wanted anything specific and happily had it made fresh. He did this with the coconut shrimp multiple times and with the lomien more than once as well. The service was great and the price wasn’t half bad.

Wow! I’m originally from the northeast and there is amazing Chinese food up there. Now in San Antonio, I’m finding it hard to find good Chinese food. So, my wife and I were surprised to find this place in such a rural part of Texas.

The buffet was steaming hot and well stocked. The varieties of chicken were all lean and tasted great. All of the food was very flavorful! They also offer six types of ice cream. There were other types of desserts, but I am an ice cream guy. 🙂

The staff was very attentive, keeping our drinks full throughout our meal.

The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the beef in the beef and broccoli. The broccoli and sauce was great, but the beef’s texture was a little “soft”. Hard to explain.

Butttt, overall I wish this place was in San Antonio because we really enjoyed it.

Not worth $12 for the buffet. Maybe $10 at the most.
I have been there quite often just because I hope that they have improved and want to experience a good Chinese buffet.
I am disappointed every time.
This last visit had an added negative quality in that the server was a very lazy and unfriendly girl that would rather be using her cell phone than check on tables. She never filled my empty glass. I had to take it to her.
The reason I stated it is not worth $12 is because most of the food on the buffet is always cold (just a little above room temperature!) and there is a very limited selection of entrees.
I have mentioned this to the staff when I leave all the time. This time the girl just told me I could’ve ordered from the menu instead of getting buffet!

The food was typical for a Chinese buffet, with nice variety. The price was reasonable. We enjoyed the meal, but food was not as hot as I’d like. Ice cream for dessert. Lots of customers so this must be a favorite stop for the locals. We would go back.

The food was lukewarm but the service was attentive. For Chinese food out in West Texas, it was pretty good after a day at Big Bend! Try the coconut shrimp! Make sure you bring some cash, their card reader was done when we went and we had to leave to go get cash.
