I recently hosted a large party at Aloy’s (80+ people) and I can not say enough great things about the experience I had with Jen and her team.
The food was fresh and kept full during the entire dinner portion of our party. It was delicious and of the exact quality we get on a regular night out. Drinks- which included a great selection of beer and wine- were always full and replenished throughout the entire day and the whole event space was kept spotless throughout the entire party by the staff.
The entire party was fairly priced and exceeded expectations in every way as is the case every time I have gone here.
All of our guests raved about the food and service provided by Jen and her staff and some of them have already made reservations to come back soon which speaks volumes to how they do things.
I would recommend Aloy’s for any occasion and party size and I can not thank them enough for making our special day great!
Although I’m not a big fan of Aloy’s pizza (see below), I ordered one of their other menu items, Chicken Francais, and it was very good. The chicken was tender and the sauce had a nice lemony taste. It came with a salad, which I ordered with with their house dressing with crumbly blue cheese, and pasta in marinara sauce – both of which were very good. We also ordered Tartufo for dessert which was also delicious. I’ve raised my overall rating from 3 to 4 and now recommend Aloy’s.
***Update***
I’ve had Aloy’s pizza a few times now and the taste is really starting to grow on me. Unfortunately they are extremely inconsistent with respect to the crust. The crust is always thin but not always crunchy. More often ‘floppy’. Again, interesting/ good taste just very inconsistent when it comes to the crust.

Despite living in/around Poughkeepsie for 50+ years, I’ve never been to Aloys. I’ve heard their pizza is legendary, and the food is fantastic, unfortunately that was not my experience but I’m going to go back and give it another try. For now, all I can give it is 3 stars.
On the plus side the staff is friendly and attentive. Although the atmosphere is nothing special and somewhat dated, there’s still something appealing about it. As you come in there’s a bar to the right and the dining area is to the left. Past the dining area is a large room for parties.
As far as the food goes, we had their pizza. It took a VERY long time to arrive. My dining partner has had their pizza many times before and loves it. Me, not so much. It’s thin crust (which I do like) and we had half cheese and half pepperoni. The cheese only pie was better as it was much less oily with a crispy crust. I could easily pick it up and eat it. The pepperoni was very oily. It also had a thin crust but was far too ‘floppy’ to pick up. The taste for both was just ok. There are a lot of reviews that speak highly of the pizza, so perhaps it’s just me because I’m just not tasting it.
The next time I go back I will try something other than the pizza and hopefully be able to rate it higher.
Bonus: We were on our way to the Walkway Over the Hudson for an after-dark stroll under the stars. The restaurant staff encouraged us to leave our car in their parking lot, which is a short walk to the bridge entrance.
Just a magical evening at a wonderful historic authentic Italian restaurant. We will definitely return as often as possible.
It wasn’t busy when we arrived. We were immediately greeted and seated. Our drinks were Sloop Juice bomb for my husband and coffee for me. There was no coffee ☕ so our server Holly made me a fresh pot, this was very much appreciated. We chose the fried zucchini sticks as appetizer, they arrived super hot with a nice portion. Main course my husband chose the chicken parm with side of pasta and minestrone to start. I chose a salad along with eggplant rollatini and side of pasta . Everything tasted great. We brought home out dessert which consisted of Tiramisu and some chocolate pudding cake. I can’t say enough good things about Holly. She always had a smile which I could tell even when she was wearing a mask. We were checked on several times during our meal. This experience was perfect. I’m glad we have this place another chance. I have it another star ⭐ as a result. Thank you Holly. Hopefully we will see you soon!
The food was very good I had sausage & kale lasagne from the daily specials menu. My husband opted for chicken parmesan. Their portions looked average but we both had a hard time finishing, in this case our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. We were greeted & seated quickly and ordered just as quick. Our service was a bit disappointing. We were taken care of by two people and after finishing was asked if I would like coffee or and I did order a coffee. After waiting about 10 minutes one of our servers asked if we would like coffee or dessert and I simply said no as I had lost my patience.
