Hidden gem with the best authentic Thai food on the Big Island. Imagine having a Thai grandma custom make you everything and this is it! For real. Don’t let the ambiance of this small food court shape your opinions, let your taste buds explode. They take cash and card, and everything is made with care.

Just walking distance from Hilo’s Farmers Market this little Thai food place was a gem. Prices were reasonable and the food was delicious. It was a 1 woman operation, and she did it all. We waited about 10 minutes for a our food, which we thought was pretty good. And where she’s located is near a couple of other food venues right next to her. At a little food court. So they all share about six tables. Needless to say seating might be a little hard if it’s crowded, but fortunately for us it wasn’t. Also you can find free parking in front of the building or across the street.

We have been enjoying food from Aloydee’s Thai Food for many many years. This is one of our favorite take out lunch spots. At times we would eat here multiple times a week. It’s right next door to the Hilo Farmer’s Market. One of the most underrated, off the beaten path lunch spots.
We usually take out, but there are also limited shared seating in a common area used by other little food spots in the area.
She has an amazing menu and everything always tastes so ‘ono (delicious). She has all kinds of noodles, curries, fried rice, papaya salad, summer rolls, Thai tea and veggie dishes. I’ve never had anything on her menu that I didn’t like. My young children also love her food and will even request to eat there.
Some of our favorites:
Pad Thai
Yellow Curry
Green Curry
Curry Noodles
Drunken Noodles
Lots of people LOVE her summer rolls and green papaya salad. You can get the spice level as you prefer.
You can call in your order ahead of time and have it ready for pick up, but only if you are certain you will pick up as she is a small business that could not eat the costs of no shows for food already cooked as she prepares everything fresh.
Wait time is usually around 15-20 minutes, sometimes little bit longer if it’s rush hour, but always worth it.

This is our second time eating here. We had to come back after enjoying the delicious fried rice last year. The food is prepared very fresh. Lots of flavor. Basil fried rice is our favorite!

Bring cash. We had chicken pad Thai and some avocado spring rolls. Great meal, definitely worth the stop.

A great counter-serve place to grab some lunch after stopping by the farmer’s market.
Food always comes served hot and fresh, with great flavor. Always love myself a zingy plate of curry noodles–I recommend to ask for spice! Reasonable prices compared with many Hilo places serving the same cuisine.
Can have a few minutes’ wait at busy hours, but is well-worth it…Enjoy the murals and artwork in the shared dining area.

How did this place get such high reviews? The papaya salad was bland. Even after asking for extra fish sauce. The Tom kha was a medley of random veggies – purple cabbage, cabbage, broccoli, carrots, green beans. The chicken tasted stale. Flavor was completely off . I threw it away after a few sips. The kitchen didn’t have any stove, just a bunch of electric pots – these should have been a clue that food isn’t authentic.

Pineapple fried rice was absolutely delicious. It feels and tastes homemade. Portions are small but filling. Much cheaper than some other places nearby. (cash only fyi). Weird cafe seating but I’m not complaining.
