My friends and I went to Aloha Alley to grab dinner around 7:30pm on a Friday. One of my friends and I are from Hawaii, and I asked the cashier if anyone on the staff was from Hawaii, and he said the chef was. The restaurant probably operates more on takeout, but there are a few tables where you can take your takeout and sit down, which is what we did. There were three other parties at the time, and it is a no frills ambiance.

We ordered the tsunami nachos ($14.99), loco moco ($16.95), butter garlic shrimp ($16.95), big kahuna plate (kalbi, teri chicken, longanisa) ($24), and POG ($5/each – they had BOGO). Overall, the food was fine, and if you’re from Hawaii and desperate, you can satisfy your craving. The tsunami nachos (ahi) were honestly the best thing, albeit the least authentic. The flavors were spot on, and I thought the wonton nachos complemented the fish more than regular chips would. For the loco moco, the hamburger was dry and overcooked. The garlic shrimp had a mild version of the flavors you would experience from a shrimp truck back home. Everything in the big kahuna plate lacked seasoning, and the kalbi was tough and chewy. The POG tasted very natural, but I was expecting a Hawaiian Sun or similar canned drink for nostalgia reasons.

Again, the food is fine, and the prices are appropriate for the area. I just went in expecting to have a taste of home, and the flavors didn’t live up to my experiences.

Aloha alley is easily the best Hawaiian food I’ve ever had (and I’ve been to Hawaii multiple times). We ordered the Hawaii ahi poke, the big kahuna, the kamikaze nachos, the cuppa chili, and POG. Everything was so delicious and flavorful, the fish was so fresh and it all tasted so authentic. My favorite was the tuna poke which reminded me so much of Hawaii as well as the POG which is house made and so tasty. The space was so fun and well decorated, and the service was also wonderful and everything came out so fresh and hot. I’m already planning my next visit and would highly recommend everything I got!!

Get a taste of Hawaii here at Aloha Alley! Lucky me, I came with a big group and got to sample a little bit of everyone’s heaven. I’m going to happily start with lumpia, perfectly crispy and a munchable size, you could eat these forever because they aren’t greasy. Chili was a surprising favorite, just the right amount of savory and slightly sweet combination of comfort food. Let’s talk about the main entree that I was too busy eating to take photos of, unlike many other poke spots, this Hawaiian tuna Poke did not taste like it’s been sitting out, it’s the closest. I’ve tasted Hawaii in New York so far. The nachos were fun and a nice little crowd pleaser for the group. Don’t miss out on a spam! musubi – more things, I was too busy eating rather than taking photos of. All in all, a cozy little place that satisfies your pico.

Aloha Alley is a hidden gem in Brooklyn for anyone who loves Hawaiian-style comfort food done right. The flavors are bold, fresh, and authentic, especially their poke bowls and plate lunches. The meats are always juicy and well-seasoned, and you can tell they care about quality with every dish they serve.

The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, with island vibes that make you feel like you’re stepping into a little corner of Hawaii right in the middle of Brooklyn. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help you choose if it’s your first time.

Portions are generous for the price, and everything tastes homemade. If you’re craving something different from the usual NYC food scene, Aloha Alley is definitely worth the visit. I’ll absolutely be back.

Highly recommended for anyone looking to try Hawaiian food or just have a great meal!

I’ve never had Hawaiian food but I wanted to try it for a minute.

I pulled up to aloha valley. It’s in dumbo a pretty good area.

They specialize in poke and Hawaiian food so I ordered the big kahuna. Where you get a good mix of everything. Rice, 3 Meats, and macaroni salad. Plus I got a side salad.

Priced at $24 but they pack it out with protein. I like how they add sesame on the rice it adds a nice crunch. There’s chicken, steak and I think pork. I really wanted to try this Hawaiian mac salad. It’s different from how Caribbeans make it but it compliments the meal.

After eating everything, it fills me up but doesn’t leave me sluggish. It’s a pretty good meal.

Customer service was straight forward. Shout out to the guy who helped me. Food didn’t take too long.

I would definitely come back to explore the Hawaiian flavors.

So so so tastyyyy! What I absolutely love about this spot is it can be so difficult to find authentic Hawaiian food in the city, but the new chef here is ACTUALLY native Hawaiian so yeah probably the best Poke you’ll have in the city but also like real dishes native to Hawaii. They’re also talking about adding more to the menu thanks to chef Quinn Nakahara ⭐️ I haven’t been able to get enough since I first tried and mouth is watering even as I look at the pics to post.

HIGHLY recommend the short rib big Kahuna platter and the tacos (which are in wontons), AND the nachos are so yum

I stop by Aloha Ali every time I’m in DUMBO visiting family — it’s my favorite Brooklyn spot! The poké bowls are unbelievably fresh, flavorful, and full of care. I built mine with spicy tuna and tofu, and it was perfect. The vibe is chill and welcoming, and the whole team brings that true aloha spirit. I met Manny, the owner, today, and you can tell how much passion goes into everything here. I also tried their calamansi lemonade, which reminded me of home — my parents are Filipino, and that flavor brought back such warm memories. If you’re anywhere near DUMBO, this place is a must. Amazing food, great service, and a really good energy all around.

Got the Loco Moco and the Alloha Lemonade.
The lemonade was soooooo good, every sip was just as good as the first. The citrus they use is delicious, I definitely recommend this as a MUST.

The Loco Moco gravy was really yummy, and I chose the pineapple fried rice which was very good too. Came with two patties and perfectly sunny side up fried eggs.

Definitely enjoyed and recommend this spot.

A taste of Hawaii in the heart of DUMBO in the middle of winter, this place delivers. The warm, soothing décor makes you forget the cold outside.
The food brought me straight back to North Shore food trucks and the local fusion flavors of O‘ahu. D nostalgic bite and a “Wash Your Palms ” in the bathroom adding extra charm.
Prices are comparable to the area, but portions are more generous. Meeting the owners, Manny and Karen, and hearing the passion behind their story made the experience even more special.
FYI: the Lemonsito juice is a must.
Mahalo, DUMBO!

Me and my bf were really underwhelmed with this place, which sucked because we had been so excited to try it. I got the chicken teriyaki bbq bowl and the tsunami nachos. The chicken teriyaki was doused in too much sauce (which feels crazy for me to say bc i usually love a lot of sauce, but this was just a really strong teriyaki sauce) and the rice and cold. The tsunami nachos were made from stale wonton chips and were also doused in way too much sauce. I hate to give bad reviews to restaurants, but the food wasn’t good and I feel like I wasted $48 🙁
