We went out to eat for my dad’s birthday. The foot was top notch! Better than anywhere around. The staff was fantastic. Its a bit of a drive and worth every minute.

Overpriced for the experience: We spent $80 for two adults and a toddler, which felt steep considering we usually spend around $60 at places like Outback or Texas Roadhouse for better food and service.
Disappointing steak: The $40, 12-ounce steak was mostly fat with very little meat. The seasoning was decent, but it couldn’t make up for the bad cut. My wife barely got a few bites in and went home hungry. The fries and potatoes were fine, but nothing better than what you could get from the freezer aisle at Walmart.
Uncomfortable atmosphere: There was no music, no other customers, and the staff seemed unsure of what to do when we walked in. They just stood there until we asked where to sit. When we finished and paid, the waiter simply walked to the back without saying anything. The whole experience felt awkward and just really weird.
We left feeling like the food and service didn’t match the price. It’s a shame because this place has potential to bring a lot of business into small-town Almo, but the low-quality food and service that we and others have experienced (looking at other reviews) seem to be doing the opposite. I know for us we now feel as though the limited options for edible food will unfortunately make ever coming back to Almo a low priority.

This burger was HUGE! And the flavor was amazing. This was the double black and blue burger. I should have gotten a single. It was so much food. Good thing I did a really hard bike ride at City of Rocks that morning. Service was friendly and attentive. Casual atmosphere for a steakhouse, but worth coming back to visit. And that burger was an incredible value.

Perfect end to a long ride. Food was great. Service was amazing and informative about the area and welcoming. Will absolutely be back and might even stay there.

Went for early dinner. Had NY strip, fries, salad, veggies, dessert combo. Meat was cooked to perfection: juicy and well seasoned. Fries were seasoned and delicious, too. Service was very friendly. PS: The cut in the meat was from me checking if it was done correctly (and it definitely was).

My husband and I just had dinner here and it was very good. They have an option to do a split plate steak dinner. My husband and I ordered the 14oz ribeye. It was seasoned nicely with a wonderful flavor. I usually use a steak sauce but did not need it with this steak, it was also very tender. My husband got the country fries. I tasted them and they were very tasty. I got the Dutch oven potatoes they were also good although a bit salty for my taste, but I tend to cook with low salt so that could be why they seemed salty. It was served with a slice of very nice bread, thick and soft lightly toasted. The meal also came with a small dinner salad. The menu states that it included pudding or ice cream for dessert. The house specialty is Pioneer pudding which is a cross between a cobbler and bread pudding, tonight’s flavor was peach it was delicious. The service was very good we were waited on promptly and the food came quickly and the price was reasonable for what we got. A great experience. We will definitely be eating here again!

About as good as you can get for a remote location like this. Loved my burger and tachos! The day before I had a ribeye and baked potato. It hit the spot! I appreciate that they were open even though I haven’t seen many tourists in town.

It was fine, nothing special. One of our burgers was underdone, fries were good, baked potato needed more sour cream which I never got, rootbeer float came when we were close to leaving, and we got a cake pop which was disgusting, it didn’t even have cake inside. Well, it’s good enough for a little town, though.

I would love to give 0 stars. We came in with a large party because the pizza place was closed. Our group was going to split up and some go into Albion. When asked how many people they could seat or when they had an opening they said, “I don’t know,” and looked at us. They made no attempt to even seat 4 of us or tell us when to return. It was so rude, we will never be back and we will spread the word.

I was disappointed with the food at this place. I expected a decent burger from a place that calls itself a steakhouse but what I got was dry and crumbly like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for too long. The salad was a small plate of iceberg lettuce. I was not impressed.
