We went for the 1st time on a Tuesday for an early dinner (around 4:30) and found there was plenty of parking and no wait. Our waiter, Christian, told us it was Happy Hour but neither of us were interested in drinking. We were seated right away, chips and salsa and drinks were in hand very quickly.

The menu had all the normal Mexican dishes and an extensive mariscos selection. I ordered the tostada Sonoma and chile reyeno plate to split with the kids, and husband got the street tacos with beef fajita (in San Diego we would have called it carne asada ).

We asked for onions and cilantro on the side because that’s how we’re used to eating street tacos in SD. I also got one beef fajita taco for the kids to split.

The food came out fast and fresh. The tostada was delicious, well seasoned with tender shrimp and fish. My chile reyeno had the option of adding meat, but I just wanted the cheese and chili. That too was done really nicely and seasoned deliciously. We also got a side of some amazing green spicy salsa.

Husband finished his street tacos and had no complaints.

The only thing I didn’t care for was the guac on my plate, I think it could have used a little more salt.

I could drink the green salsa though, and when I asked for a to-go container for the rest of it, Christian brought me enough out to last the week to take home.

Very good service, very reasonable priced food, easy parking, and plenty of left overs. We will definitely be back.

How on earth is this place in business with all the wonderful Mexican restaurants in the area? This place is horrible on every level.

Chips stale
Salsa bland
Queso runny, watery and bland

Music was insanely loud. Wasn’t your typical cantina music. It was like dubstep or what they would blast at a rave…only it was Saturday afternoon. My family and I couldn’t even talk to each other because we couldn’t hear each other.

Service was horrible. I have 2 daughters in the restaurant service industry so it takes a lot for me to say something bad about service. No clue who our server was because she never introduced herself. She had enhanced features. When she would grace us with her presence she was not kind. She tried to serve my water from behind me and over my shoulder. I just all of a sudden had a glass of water in my face. I asked where the bathroom was and she just pointed to a door. I tried to place my order. She cut me off and told me to hold on after I just named one thing…a burrito. No modifications, no substitutions. Then when I said “taco” She interrupted me and told me to hold on. Girl. You couldn’t follow that?

Mind you we came during off peak hours but service was slow.

My daughters cheese enchiladas…Banquet frozen dinner is better. Tried to pick up my burrito that was grilled but it was flimsy and fell apart.

My husband’s Pozole was gross. Hominy was non existent. It was mushy and melts in your mouth. My husband asked server if it was menudo but she said no. Everything was room temperature. Nothing was hot. Hope we didn’t get food poisoning.

We are surrounded by wonderful Mexican restaurants around us. Not sure how people eat here and keep it going.

Won’t be back. I wanted to add pics but couldn’t

Pulled up to Alma Latina Mexican Restaurant and honestly, I was highly disappointed. We ordered the 5 street tacos (steak), which were supposed to come with rice and beans according to the online menu. However, the on-site menu only included beans no rice. That was confusing and misleading. When I questioned the waiter about the missing rice, he informed the supervisor. She stated that they were currently updating the menus and apologized for the confusion, but didn’t honor the mistake or offer any kind of solution. We also ordered the Botana Latina, which came with 4 chicken quesadillas, 4 chicken nachos, 4 steak nachos, and 4 chicken taquitos. Unfortunately, none of the meats were seasoned and everything was just very greasy. The salsas were terrible, especially the avocado green sauce, which had mayo in it ! The red sauce taste like warm tomato paste mixed with water, just GROSS!!!! The only thing worth mentioning in a positive way were the margaritas, they were actually good. Other than that, I definitely won’t be returning.

We sat in the patio for lunch because the weather was beautiful. A+ for having the Texans game on all the screens. The food was pretty good, I had Mole Enchiladas and he had Beef Fajita Tacos.
Our waitress Marina was not very attentive, we needed a refill on drinks and she didn’t come to our table until we finally saw her and flagged her down for the check. I noticed other waitresses were around tending to their tables constantly. If we come back to this location we will probably not sit in her area.

Nice Mexican breakfast on a Monday. The food was flavorful but a little salty. The green salsa I is very spicy (I like that). The staff were very attentive but it was a very quiet part of the day. The decor is great, I can imagine it is packed to the brim on evenings and weekends.

We primarily stop by here for breakfast. We have been eating here since we moved tI the area 6 years ago. We love the micheladas, margaritas, Menudo, fajitas and barbacoa. Alma Latina has been a great spot for authentic Mexican food in the area.

Me and my teenager stopped in for lunch last week. I had the chicken enchiladas and a house margaritas. He had a fajita chicken burrito. The good was great and even better the next day for lunch. I will for sure stop in again for s quick meal and drink considering the margaritas was on $5 bucks.

This is the worst “pozole” I have ever seen. The container was more than half bones and disgusting skin, the remaining meat and soup had 2 or 3 hominy. This is not pozole. Pozole is hominy soup and meat like in my picture.

Definitely one of my favorite places in the area. Even when service is a bit off, the value and prices make it totally worth it.
