The service at All Malay was fantastic last night! The chef was very happy to alter all the dishes requested to be cruelty free and vegan! He said ‘all these ingredients came from plants’- no animals harmed! Beautiful laksa. The salt and pepper tofu was delicious!!! Will be back again.

Look it’s a local gem and we have had some nice family meals here, I am glad it is here. It is what it is and if your expectations are aligned it can be a good choice.
Menu is solid Australianese, all the old favourites. Quality and taste varies greatly. You’re not going to get anything authentic and really delicious and some things are weird (satay sauce on Narsi Goreng ???), however some of the staples are okay.
Price creep is starting to nudge them into the same band as competitors doing much better quality, taking the shine off.
You’ll be served by young kids with developing people and service skills.
On the positive side the location is good, sitting outside is nice, and they do BYO.
Not a destination for foodies but can be a fun family option

To call it Nasi Goreng is an insult to Nasi Goreng. Food court level fried rice with a peanut sauce on the side is not it.
Beef in the rendang was questionably beef and inexplicably had potato in it.
Nyonya was passable.
Service was good and attentive.
Overall would never set foot in there again. “Authentic” is never a word I’d associate with this place.

I am a Malaysian who grew up eating Malaysian food. I’ll start with the positives. I arrived quite late around 8:30pm, but the staffs were happy to accommodate and still served everything we ordered. The special fried rice was full of “wok hey” (breath of wok), great stir fried skills there 4.5/5.
Please accept the following feedback with an open mind. I ordered beef rendang and Penang char keow teow as these are good dishes to gauge authenticity. Unfortunately, these just missed the marks big time. Beef rendang were very chewy. It had potatoes which is not an ingredient used for rendang. The gravy were clearly missing some key spices. Having said that, the taste was not bad, but definitely not authentic. The Penang Char Keow Teow was definitely not penang style if you have eaten an authentic one. It should contain Chinese sausage, chives and blood cockles (or clams) topped with crispy pork lard.
For those who have been saying this is the most authentic Malaysian taste, I hope you will do yourself a favour and taste some authentic Malaysian restaurants in NSW.
I’d recommend Angkasa at Budgewoi for the beef rendang and Tasty of Penang in Burwood for the Penang Char Keow Teow and many more authentic tasting Malaysian street food.

When we arrived we asked about a high chair for our 9 month old, they brought out a filthy and broken item. The high chair was visibly covered in mould and rust! We said we wouldn’t be able to use it and manager said it wasn’t really his fault that somebody else had broke the straps. We explained that if the strap was the only problem it might have been OK but they need to bin the high chair altogether and get a new one as the screws were rusting and the fabric of the seat was covered in black spots of mould. They said they might be able to borrow a different one from a pizza place next door but we felt they were already annoyed with and didn’t stay to eat. A very unpleasant experience

Delicious Malaysian food
We visited this restaurant on the recommendation of our apartment host and had a terrific meal. We ordered the curry leaves king prawns and the curried fish – and both were surprisingly delicious. The portions were very generous and the prices were very reasonable.
