The garlic cheese flatbread was amazing — soft, cheesy, and perfect with the marinara sauce. I got the chicken alfredo with linguine, and it was incredibly creamy and rich — super cheesy and flavorful. The chicken pesto pasta with roasted red peppers, caramelized onions, and mushrooms was also delicious, with a strong pesto flavor (in a good way!).
The owner was there and she was so kind — we sat by the window, and she even came over to ask if we wanted the curtains down since the sun was shining right in. Little touches like that made the experience even better.
Big portions, great service, and everything tasted freshly made. I just wish they had more drink options, but overall, definitely worth it. I’d go back for sure — and next time, I’m trying the desserts!
When you pull up to All’ Assassina in Union it is very unassuming- there is a Greek restaurant in the corner called Souvlaqueria with the same owner.
The interior is unpretentious- bright and more of an upscale pizza parlor feel. You order at the counter and then they bring the order to your table. They have regular and San Pellegrino flavored drinks as well as Coca Cola in glass bottles. If you don’t want one of their signature dishes, the menu at All’ Assassina is highly customizable. You can build your own pasta dish by selecting a fresh sauce, fresh pasta, proteins, and up to three toppings.
We ordered the meatballs and their signature pasta that shares the name of the restaurant. The spicy, partially pan-fried spaghetti dish is as unusual as it is incredibly delicious. It is the perfect combination of texture and spice and the optional Stracciatella Cheese balances the heat.
The meatballs were also amazing – you can taste the freshness in the tomato sauce – it’s just right and the bread basket is served warm – the perfect complement for dipping.
We met the owner Marinos who gave us a taste of his short rib ragu which was off the hook!
The meal ended with homemade cheesecake with berries and a berry sauce – insane. And of course espresso with just the right crema.
Next time you are thinking of going to Belmont Tavern or another Italian destination in the tri-state area, go here, you will not be disappointed. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is bright, it’s BYO in case you want a bottle of wine, it’s a great value, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Definitely worth the trip from NYC!
The restaurant celebrates its two year anniversary on March 7, 2026 and I hope it’s there for many years to come. We will be back.
