Ali’s Roti Shop is a TREASURE!

If you’re looking for authentic, absolutely delicious Trinidadian food in Plantation, FL, Ali’s Roti Shop is where it’s at!
My husband and I just had the most incredible meal here, and I’m still thinking about it.

The Roti- Oh my goodness, the sass roti! Hot, soft, and fluffy – exactly how it should be. You can tell they make it fresh and with care. It’s the perfect vehicle for all those amazing accompaniments.

The Doubles were perfection! The bara had that ideal soft texture with just the right thickness – not too thick, not too thin. The channa? Spot-on consistency. And don’t even get me started on the sauces – they had every sauce you could want, and each one was perfectly balanced.

The Food – I went with the fried aloo and tomato choka, and WOW. My husband got the bhagi and baigan choka, and we were both in heaven. Everything was seasoned beautifully and tasted so authentic and homemade.

The Drinks – We paired our meal with a Shandy Sorrel and a Banana Solo, which were the perfect complement to the food. So refreshing!

Customer Service- 100%! The staff was friendly, helpful, and clearly take pride in what they do.

Ali’s Roti Shop isn’t just a restaurant – it’s an experience. Whether you’re Trini or just love incredible food, you NEED to visit. We’ll definitely be back soon!

This is a hidden gem. These people combine Trinitarian and Panamaian food in one spot. The quality and flavor of their curry is superb….but if I have to highlight only one thing from here it will be their service. Bonnie up front makes you feel like at home…she explains every thing very detailed and gives great recommendations. Will come back again with friends and family.

Subject: Concern About Missing Sauce and Recent Experience

Dear Management,

I am writing to share my recent experience with your restaurant, which was very disappointing, especially as I have been a loyal customer for over five years.

When I first started ordering roti from your restaurant through Uber Eats, it always came with a small amount of pepper sauce and tamarind sauce. I absolutely fell in love with those sauces, and they have been a big part of why I continue to order from you. In the past, these sauces were usually included without me having to ask.

Recently, I placed an order through Uber Eats and noticed that there was no option to request or add the sauces, and there was no notes section either. I did not mind paying extra for the sauce, but there was simply no way to request it through the app. Because of this, I called the restaurant and explained the situation. I was told it would be added to my order.

Unfortunately, when my order arrived, there was no sauce included. I called again and explained my frustration, and I was told I could come in person. I drove about 20 minutes to the restaurant, and when I arrived, I experienced pushback from one of the staff members when I asked about the sauce and even when I asked for a soda as a customer service offer to make the situation better. This was surprising, as another staff member had already said it was okay. He spoke to her twice until she finally decided to agree. Now it felt like I was begging . I dont like that .

What made this more upsetting is that in the past, the pepper sauce and tamarind sauce were usually included as a courtesy. This time, nothing was provided, despite my efforts to communicate in advance. I do not mind adding the sauce for a additional cost.

I am sharing this because I truly enjoy your food and have supported your business for years. I would appreciate it if the Uber Eats options could be updated to include sauce requests or add-ons, so customers are not put in this position. Clear communication and consistent service would make a big difference.

I hope you will take this feedback into consideration. I would like to continue supporting your restaurant, but this experience was discouraging.

Thank you for your time.

Ps. Stop gatekeeping the sauce . Its easier just to stop making it.

What a gem of a restaurant and so easy to find. Wow! Their food is delicious. The place is probably the cleanest West Indian restaurant I’ve ventured into in South Florida. The only downside is limited parking to the front, but there’s more parking to the back and side of the building, so don’t worry. The staff is also very helpful and extremely humble. They sell breakfast all day, so I got a hot, steamy sada roti with two sides ( patchoi and eggplant choka). My sada was pillowy and piping hot. I ordered doubles and a bake and shark to go. The portion sizes are huge. It is well worth the drive. They also have a nice supply of desserts like currants roll, coconut roll etc. one small issue is that they don’t have a wide selection of Caribbean drinks, however I did get a red solo❤️❤️❤️. Thank you for your amazing customer service. I can’t wait to be back!

Door dashed bake and side dish for $14, got the bake only. Called and the woman answered said how I didn’t specify which side I wanted so she sent one bake only. One bake for $14? The app doesn’t give you an option to choose the side. She said she’s just the cook and there’s nothing she can do. Incompetent! I got a DoorDash refund but I didn’t know being a cook means you have no training in customer service. Level up!

This is where you get the real stuff – paratha, doubles, currant roll (honestly the best I’ve ever had period), first, crab, dumpling, pelau, akee, shark and bake – and just good down to earth people working there. Easy to call and order ahead – never had one issue in over 5 years of ordering. Best kept secret for quality food with the best Caribbean flavors – now of the other Caribbean restaurants can hold a candle to Ali’s

Fantastic Trinidadian food – and biggest portions I’ve ever had. Bake and shark was so large that I must have been getting ripped off at Maracas all those years ago. Doubles: amazing. Should have gone medium pepper. Boneless chicken roti: incredible. Also enormous. I really wanted saheena, but it wasn’t available that day…oh well. Will have to go back.

My dad and I came here to get some Panamanian food, and we were very happy with the “frituras.” they even had bofe and cow foot soup. The ladies at the shop were super nice. Jasmine / Miss Bonne did an excellent job making us feel welcome and also suggesting some of the Trinidadian food. The “doubles” street food was very good. My favorite thing was the ginger pineapple juice it was on point a must-have. We will definitely be back for more. The prices were very reasonable. The music selection was also great. A hidden gem a must say. Make your way here and leave feeling like you were just in Panamá.
