Rating is way too low!

Had a great prime rib here (for 26 bucks) and a nice burger the other day. Ok, setting can be improved but come on, it’s inside a casino!

Enough is enough. Gosh I REALLLLLLY did not want to write this review. From the bottom of my heart I tried so hard to just be kind and let it go but like I can’t. Are you guys serious blue lake???? This is all you can do for your feature restaurant? I’m an experienced server of all kinds of settings, a banquet captain, event planner. I love love love hospitality. This is the saddest thing I’ve ever seen and I mean casino or not. If we’re comparing to other california casinos which I’ve been to about 80% of, this is so NOT BLUE LAKES STYLE. If there is a head chef there he needs to leave. I am so sorry but I’m not. I’ve worked under many Michelin stars, many with none. And i know what someone who can cook looks like, and what someone who hates their life and slaps things together for a paycheck.This is absolutely disgusting. There are so many people in the food industry who want their own restaurant in a venue like this. If youd like some reference numbers, i have some. The menu has NEVER ONCE been consistent. The food is arguably 9 times out of ten not worth the money. The menu has almost no structure to it, and for some reason almost every menu item is paired, dipped or drenched in a sickeningly sweet sauce. Every night theres been a special not one person has told me about it. Still haven’t had any pasta or fried chicken. I have literally had ONE server that ever served my table there, her name is chelsea go little rockstar. What i mean by that is shes literally the only one who actually refills waters, asks about condiments, makes good suggestions, has a smile and something nice to say, etc. The other times were completely just atrocious. The server who made this experience the absolute worst did things like tell us “well everything here sucks so I recommend just chicken strips.” She also refused to comp a meal I ate three bites out of and sat and waited 20 minutes before giving us this bill that I didn’t even eat to see if we’d dine and dash so she could get us in trouble. She also absolutely ruined our Thanksgiving dinner and I paid to bring my parents out to Sacramento. We skipped traeger smoking our own dinner for THIS? For Thanksgiving she intentionally took 15 minutes to bring my iced tea as she knew that i was watching her let everyone that got seated AFTER US go eat at the buffet, then as she came over she stared at all of us for about 2 minutes without saying anything like we should know what’s going on and then explained it to us like little children and gave us permission to eat. That wasn’t okay, my family just got done hiking trinidad. This server also has never met hygiene standards with very poorly washed hair and face, which is typically low to mention but at this point, do you guys care even about health code standards? And why have I seen so many see through leggings so offputting. She snickered and rolled her eyes when I had the courage to ask for au jus and horseradish for my father because it’s his favorite not mine and I was actually in tears at this booth. Why? Why such awful service? Why is it almost personal now? Does seriously no one in this entire county not care about hospitality? Is there a reason why I now always have to go off site just to eat with how much my family gambles? This is seriously so upsetting. Please, fix Alice’s. Worst Thanksgiving I’ve ever had. Very upset.
I will literally not be stepping foot back there nor will my family until I know new management has taken over and the new serving staff isn’t going to act like an abusive boyfriend to me just so I can eat. I am so freaking upset blue lake. Do better.
Also, that is never how you should run a buffet line. The sternos should ALWAYS BE LIT. IF UTENSILS GET SOILED BY CROSS CONTAMINATION THERE SHOULD BE A DISH PIT RESOLUTION ASAP. DESERT TRAYS SHOULD NEVER BE ON THE FLOOR USE A TRAY OR TAKE IT BACKSTAGE. And to Devin, I gave you several verbal and visual cues that something was so wrong. Why was I ignored? DO BETTER.

Ordered the Prime Rib eye and it was delicious (a bit salty though, at least for myself). Request for medium rare but got almost well done, it does came out still soft, generous portion and staffs are nice and friendly.

I got the soup and salad and when I say that salad was well sauced and tasted great. The soup was nice and hot and tasted great. The Prime Rib wasn’t on the menu but is listed as something they are known for so I decided to go with that. It was such an awesome meal and I never ordered Prime Rib anywhere before so didn’t know what to expect.

I had a not so pleasant service at Alice’s. The food was great but the wait staff that helped me was not great at all. Not even good. Not even mediocre… The waitress didn’t ask how my food was, how everything was, or if I needed a refill. She asked all the other tables but me and even when I did get her attention she took 10-15 mins just to get back to me. Jeremiah the supervisor was the best! Listened to me and was very sympathetic. He ran to find me to apologize. I will return because of Jeremiah. You’re the man! I don’t ever do reviews but he took care of me and I will do the same for him. Much appreciated, brotha!

The food offered at Alice’s Restaurant is always really good. They have specials offered everyday. Today I was able to catch Pasta Night and I wasn’t disappointed. I had Spaghetti n meatballs, a salad and really good garlic bread that was crusted with cheese and grilled. The chefs here know how to make good pasta, not soft and moosh, but perfect for me.

I know this restaurant is in a Casino and great food and service is not to be expected but come on guys, we sat for 20 minutes before our server came by, my wife’s pizza was so bland and tasted just like flat bread with toppings, my brisket flat bread tacos were also lacking flavor and my fries were cold, there was only one server and one busser on the floor i udertand, server was just too busy to provide good service, a little smile and eye contact would have helped alot.

It is hard to mess up a steak and sautéed veggies. Alice sure knows how to do it.

The steak: tasted like a cheap cut from winco that had way too much pepper on it. Medium Rare is considered close to jerky in their eyes.

My zucchini was doing the back stroke in canola oil and again someone went overboard with the seasoning.

The day before I had tried their in-house IPA at a beer festival. (Thanks for supporting a local non profit). The IPA was great, I ordered another, I didn’t get an IPA, it tasted somewhere along the lines of a sour porter(if that is a thing). I mentioned it to the server, her response, “well I watched it get poured, I know it is IPA.”

We waited 30 minutes for water refills, never getting them, and then had to go to the host station and ask to pay.

The whole experience was overwhelmingly underwhelming.

Went here for Mother’s Day. Was expecting the buffet. That’s gone. So we ordered from their regular menu. Chicken fried steak was not good. Very tough. Very salty. The pork loin special had minimal flavor. Brussels sprouts were bland and tough. Nothing on any of the plates was hot. Pretty dissapointing meal all around. Server was uninterested in our issues. No, we won’t be back.
