Alice is a soulful oasis in the heart of the West Village. Warm and charming atmosphere, dimmed light and white brick wall welcome you in the former Gradisca and Reno Sweeney jazz club.
Fresh pastas hand-crafted on site every day, selection of crudi, small plates, the freshest fish straight from Montauk and a great selection of lobster dishes awaits you.
The cuisine is light and yet so satisfying, chef Riccardo Orfino created a menu that does equal justice to Spaghetti al Pomodoro -3 kind of tomatoes- and lobster risotto and burrata’.
With 2 spacious dining rooms, a 14 seats full bar and a great music selection staged and directed by mr Wael Deek you can be sure to impress all your guests when choosing to celebrate at Alice.
Italian seafood restaurant located in the basement of a historical brownstone.

Valentines dinner had many hits! The oysters were amazing, had a nice salty buttery taste. The scallops were delicious with a tasty puree. Definitely the highlight of the courses. Tartare was a treat but the toasted bread was the star. Like was that brioche or what ?!! Last but not least the cake. Omg it was so rich, decedent and sweet. Best cake I’ve had a restaurant. My entree was the short beef rib. It was so tender. Omg ! The glazed carrots were perfect. This restaurant is a lovely vibe. The enclosed space is cool, although it’s basically outside. It was so warm and comforting, even with other guests coming and going. There was no wait for our reservation. Our appetizers came out within minutes of placing our orders. The entrees did take a while, seemed like some confusion coming from the kitchen. When the entrees came they were hot & tasty. Our server was full of personality, charming and friendly. Overall it was a lovely dinner.

Tucked beneath a historic brownstone, Alice feels like a hidden escape to coastal Italy — intimate, elegant, and full of charm.
From the moment we arrived, the host welcomed us warmly and seated us right away, setting the tone for a wonderful night. The service was exceptional — Xaviera made the experience unforgettable, describing each dish with passion and care.
The Bucatini al Limone was creamy, citrusy, and perfectly salted; the grilled octopus was tender and full of flavor; and the burrata with heirloom tomatoes was a refreshing start.
It’s clear that Alice prides itself on excellent customer service — the laid-back, welcoming vibe and friendly staff truly make you feel like family.
✨ A cozy, flavorful, and heartfelt dining experience — a true hidden gem in NYC.

My favourite design from our trip. I love this style of restaurant … very talked about but kind of hidden.
The owners were very accommodating of our reservation request when they found out we were also restaurateurs on an nyc trip even though it was short notice.
Being Italian it’s always a more authentic experience to be speaking Italian with the very charming and gracious owners who came to our table and spent quite a bit of time conversing with us in Italian and explaining their journey in nyc and practically every ingredient of every dish.
A very special experience.
I would give this place 15 stars for atmosphere if the option was available.
Loved everything but the atmosphere is just amazing.
Auguri

Alice in the West Village is one of those places that feels designed for a date night. The space is intimate and dimly lit, tucked inside a charming townhouse that gives it a cozy but stylish vibe. The candlelight, flowers, and lively crowd make the atmosphere feel romantic and a little sexy without being over the top.
The menu leans toward Italian seafood and handmade pasta. The pasta dishes are fresh and well executed, especially the cacio e pepe agnolotti and the seafood risotto, which both highlight simple ingredients done right.
, Alice is a solid choice in the West Village if you’re looking for a romantic, slightly upscale Italian dinner with good drinks and a fun atmosphere. It’s less about a traditional hearty Italian meal and more about the ambiance and a stylish night out.

A hidden gem. Food was fantastic, all of the servers are attentive and kind. The atmosphere is romantic. Went in for dinner, then sat at the bar, spent over 4 hours at the restaurant.

Had the most delicious sowrdfish and yellowtail bolognese at Alice. Highly recommend coming here, especially for the fish dishes and pastas! This restaurant is tucked away on 13th street in the bottom floor of a townhouse in between 6th and 7th ave.

We dined at Alice on a Tuesday evening for Restaurant Week. The service, food, and atmosphere were fantastic. Very cool vibe situated in a well designed interior. It’s located in a historic brownstone. Every dish we had was very good. The service was polite, friendly, and efficient.

I came here with my homegirl to try the Restaurant Week menu and we had a fabulous time thanks to our amazing server, Carson. He was so warm and welcoming as soon as we came in. I don’t know much about wines and Carson walked us through the wine menu in such an accessible way. He helped expand my wine knowledge and introduced me to my new favorite wine! The calamari was beautiful and fresh. The salmon was great and the tiramisu was so luscious. The real treat was the peach and melon sorbet, hand scooped by lovely Carson. I’ll definitely be back at Alice to try their pastas and hopefully to be served by Carson again

Great spot for seafood Italian!! The table side salt baked fish was delicious. Late night, the music changes and becomes more lively rather than a dinner spot. I recommend making a late reservation and staying for a drink at the bar after.

Been there a few times and the food is great. I was supposed to go again valentines but plans changed and I canceled two days in advance. Unfortunately, I have had issues getting in contact with management for a cancellation charge of $100 despite cancelling well over their stated 24 hr guidelines on resy.
