5 stars for the bagels but 1 star for service especially if the older lady is behind the counter. We have been putting up with the bad service because we love their bagels but we have hit our limit too. Not only rude and argumentative but now they are getting the order wrong too. Our order is usually plain bagel with cream cheese so it takes work to get that wrong. Wish establishments with top notch food cared as much about service.

I called to place an order for pick up and while on the phone ordering, I passed the phone to another person to add onto the order and the lady on the phone cut me off and said she only wants to speak to one person ordering and it’s too confusing to listen to another person speak to order… I told her I didn’t know what he wanted but it is all the same order and she said then I have to talk to him before hand and then call back when I have the full order, then she hung up lol. I can’t believe a business would tell me how to order on the phone …they will/ have definitely lost a lot of business due to their poor, nasty & rude attitude. There’s too many bagel shops in the area to support this nasty one ♀️

Great bagels. They were my favorite in the area. Won’t be coming back due to their customer service. The counter lady yelled at me for not telling her I was eating there, so she was upset they used to go containers for my order. How about you ask if it’s for here or to go? It is not my job to tell you what I’m doing. Then I asked for an additional small container and was told I would need to pay for it. I told her she lost a customer. Then driving home on rt 287 there was almost an accident with some lady driving very poorly. I took a good look at the driver and it was an Alfa bagels employee in her Alfa bagels shirt. Go figure. These people are clueless. Great bagels though!!

I will never go out of my way to go to this establishment. I drive 45 minutes to get bagels and I placed an order and got hung up THREE times because no one can understand me. They have the rudest employees and would not give me the name of the manager/owner to make a complaint. So here it is! My time was wasted driving here. You lost my business and i hope others too. Also, I noticed the owner of this establishment doesn’t reply to apologize to anyone. Not a good look and shame on you. Seems like the complaints are all about the employees you have working there and I couldn’t agree more. If I could give zero stars I would!

Very good bagels. Large with just right crust. Good chance of getting warm bagels in the AM. Small place and considered one of the best bagels in NJ. I have to agree.

I am not the type of person that will leave a bad review but I will not be going back to this place. It is very unfortunate what this place has come down to. I was a customer for years but lately it has been getting worse and worse. To be more specific the customer service. Their food is fresh and delicious but the main people we as customers see in the front are not a good look for this place. I hope the owners pay more attention to this matter as it is obvious that I was not the first comment with a similar complaint. I called to place my order ahead of time as I was driving to work for it to be ready by the time I arrived. To end up having to wait as nothing was ready. If they are a bagel shop and no bagels are ready when the customer calls it in it should be explained to the customer for them to make the decision if they want to wait longer for my food. The ladies were very rude and even told me I had no manners not wanting to understand the situation and ignoring that I had the right to be upset. Alpha bagel owner, I understand it is hard to find people to work after the pandemic but customer service is killing your business.

Worst customer service. I placed an order for five sandwiches for pickup at alfa bagels. When I arrived I went straight to the pickup line. I stood there waiting to get assisted and every single person who worked there just kept helping the other people. So when I arrived they had one new person on the other line don’t wait because he was there before my arrival. After that, they went to help four more customers. I mentioned to the lady behind the counter that I’d been waiting for a puck up. Rudely she said I have to wait and too off. She went to the device window and began talking badly to her coworkers I’m Spanish. The funny thing is I understood everything. Since I’m Spanish but I guess they can’t tell. I’m sorry but you do not talk badly about people, especially customers who are eating to be assisted and keep getting pushed back and helping new customers. Para la Colombiana que dijo cosass. Just moved to the area. Alfa was recommended by a friend. I went out of my way to try it on a busy Sunday morning. Parking is a challenge. Got lucky as someone was pulling out as I was pulling in. Just wanted 3 bagels. A blueberry and poppy for me and a rye for the GF. I couldn’t see the young lady selecting the bagels. She handed me the bag and charged me $2.70. Got home and didn’t have the rye for the GF. I didn’t see single bagel pricing on the wall, but in the rush, I wasn’t going to hunt for it. It doesn’t appear on their web site. So I don’t know if I was charged a reasonable $.90 for three, but only got two, or if they have the highest price in the area and got two for $1.35 each and she botched the order. Either way, the order was incorrect. The bagels were okay. Brooklyn probably better. Definitely bigger. If $1.35 each was correct, Brooklyn is also cheaper. Doesn’t make me want to go out of my way to go back.
