My first thai experience in va was a disaster. The tom yum soup I ordered was nasty, not made the authentic way at all and had two little mushrooms in it, barely any chicken, and all broth. The jasmine rice I ordered was overcooked. To top it off I waited 2 hours for uber to bring it and I couldnt get my money back. Over priced and underwhelming.

I called Alex Thai Cuisine at about 9.40 pm to order some take out. I didn’t know the menu so I just ordered a standard Thai dish what I often get when going out for Thai food. I ordered a green curry with chicken.
The gentleman on the phone was very nice, he explained me , without me even asking, how to find the place and from which street to come and park since they closed that little are for traffic.
I arrived at 9.58pm, 2 minutes before they close, and again great customer service and we also had a little chat about Thailand.
My food was ready and I paid, I didn’t feel rushed or anything like that.
I’m not really sure about the gentlemans name, it might have been Alex, I guess he in his fifty’s and Originally from Thailand. Very nice man and great customer service.
The food was also great, very good spiced with a great balance to it. Compared to other Thai restaurants in the city it’s definitely one in the top rankings (my rankings). First I thought it might be a little small, it looked like in the plastic bowl for take out, and the other bowl with white rice… But I can tell you it only looked like… When I put everything on a plate at home it was a big portion and it definitely filled me up without being to much or too less.
Overall great experience and I can absolutely recommend this place.
I’m looking forward to go there during the day and have a meal in the restaurant.

Food was good until we found a hair in the curry we ordered. I have purple hair and my friends hair is short so it was definitely one of the cooks. Noodles were way overcooked but the flavor was ok. We unfortunately lost our appetite due to the hair.

The man who took my order on the phone was very rude. I asked for extra sauce on the phone and he told me that is not how Pad Thai is supposed to be and he doesn’t know why people ask for that. I insisted that I prefer extra sauce. When I received my food my request was fulfilled regarding adding extra sauce, however, the taste of the Pad Thai itself lacked flavor. The food and service was awful and my food was cold. I definitely won’t come back and I only came here because Patio Thai was closed.

ordered a vegetarian meal and there was a random piece of chicken in it that i accidentally ate. as a lifelong vegetarian this was extremely distressing. would not trust this place or recommend to anyone with food allergies or dietary restrictions because they clearly aren’t in control of cross contamination:(

Ordered spicy noodles and it’s not spicy at all with barley any chicken! Chicken satay is the thinnest chicken I have ever tried to eat, key word is tried because it is so over cooked and dry it is inedible! Chicken leather! Even the Thai iced coffee is filled with coffee grinds. The entire meal is a disappointment and I will never be ordering from them again!

Walked in for lunch with some co-workers. The portions were good, the spiciness was to my liking (I’m not huge on overly spicy food), and my water glass never went empty. Not the best Thai food I’ve ever had, but the yellow curry was certainly good enough for lunch within walking distance of my office for under $10.

I ordered carry out so i can’t speak to the decor or service but I was disappointed in the food. I had the Drunken noodles and the noodles were like mush and the portions were very small compared to any other Thai restaurant I have been to (including less expensive ones). What I love about Thai food in general is the use of spices and seasonings and this had none to speak of.
On the plus side the prices aren’t bad (<$10 per meal) and if you really don't like spicy food this might not be a terrible option.
Overall I would not recommend this.

The seafood Thai fried rice was absolutely horrible. I paid over twenty dollars for the dinner/regular portion last night and paid ten dollars for a delivery fee through Uber Eats, plus their fees, and it wasn’t worth my money at all. How do you have the audacity to charge someone that kind of money for fried rice and put imitation crab in it. Not only that, the shrimp tasted boiled and wasn’t seasoned at all. The entire meal wasn’t seasoned and had a very bland and steamed taste to it. I took two bites of it and moved my fork around in it like Gordon Ramsey does, then threw it in the trash. A complete waste of $40 plus dollars. This was an embarrassment to anything representing Thai food. You all should be ashamed of yourselves for letting something like this leave your restaurant.
