This places service sucks. Food is decent with some issues but the service makes me not want to go back. My husband wanted the fisherman’s plate and asked if he can get more shrimp instead of the scallops. Sorry no substitutions. Last I checked scallops are more expense. What if he was allergic? You can’t do any substitutions. Thats not the way to run a business. The French onion soup is good but way too many croutons. I had to scoop out half of them. Secondly the owner or manager comes with just my husbands dinner, and didn’t have my salad. She looked pissy when we asked about my salad. Then they come Bring my salad that was placed in a bowl then the bowl was on the plate. How do you expect people To eat a heaping salad in a bowl? It would fall all over. I did the smart thing and used the plate underneath to put half the salad. They gave me one small dressing which is no where near enough for how big the salad is. In my salad I had big end chunks of lettuce that should not be in the lettuce mix. When I got done to the end I found rotten onion. My husband asked for a pop with his dinner, never came. While we were eating he asked for more water, it never came. Then when we go to check out, of course they messed up the bill and didn’t charge us right. Sadly we don’t ever bring coming back. This is the second time we had issues. The first issue was never addressed. Don’t have high expectations with the staff and owner.

When to Alex family dining for Valentine’s Day and had the Travis city salmon. The food was excellent and service was even better. Right when you walk into the restaurant the environment is very joyful. The whole staff is very nice, kind, and very welcoming. Definitely coming back.

Our world needs more empathy and great food. Gotta have faith in a good restaurant Also, when I couldn’t walk or talk for a year they never had a problem getting in and out with their ramp with sturdy handrails. They even learned a little sign language so I could communicate on my own. They are so kind and patient. My Mom and I will always go there. Just wish they were open a little later.

I had lunch here with my family and can’t day better things about this place! A great and classic American dinner, with delicious food and outstanding service. Place was super easy to find and park. There was no wait and the venue was clean. Price was right for all

We have been loyal customers at Alex’s for almost 10 years now and still cannot say enough great things about them. The food is fantastic (I don’t think we’ve ever ordered anything that hasn’t been absolutely delicious), the staff is amazing (many of whom we revere as family) and we’ve even become friendly with several of the regulars, almost like they’re friends. If you haven’t already, we highly recommend you give them a try … we promise you will not be disappointed.

The food quality is consistently excellent — everything tastes fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Not happy with my experience this visit to Alex’s. I tried to order French breakfast for 12.99. Instead waitress charged everything seperate approximately charged 17.00. For 2 eggs sausage links and French toast. Ridiculous won’t be back. At the very least waitress could have at least ask which breakfast option Ala carte or this homestyle French toast egg breakfast for 12.99. Furthermore waitress tried telling me it would be the same price since I added cheese. 12.99 +.90 cents for cheese does not equal 17.00. Thats what irked me the most poor customer service on this issue.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. Moved back to metro Detroit from Lansing 3 years ago, my hubby took me there for breakfast and we were hooked. Very nice staff, owner etc. The food is wonderful and fairly priced. I’ve not had one bad experience ever. My favorite is their breakfast sausage and French toast. It’s really rare to find hidden gems like this, and I just want to let them know how great of a job they are doing

Amazing service. Was seated right away and we got our drinks within a minute of sitting down. We had 3+ servers checking up on us periodically. My boyfriend and I both ordered soup and we both finished with time before we got our food out, and that never happens! The food was very hot. My boyfriend got the and he said it was amazing. They kept our drinks full also. Every server that we encountered was very friendly and was not hesitant to help with with anything! Amazing service and food, will definitely be back again soon to try more amazing food!
