First time to this wonderful gem of a restaurant and it was a wonderful experience. We were looking for a romantic restaurant to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and this place nailed it.

First, we went on a Tuesday night at the end of October and did not have a reservation. I mistakenly thought it would be quiet as the tourist season is ending. We were quite mistaken! The hostess told us it would be an hour wait so we enjoyed their comfy seating area near the bar and she was darn close, we waited just over an hour and it was worth every minute of our wait. For appetizers we had the baked Brie and crab cakes which were amazing!! The Brie mixed with the lingonberries was the perfect blend. We both had steak for the main course, while nothing spectacular they were delicious and oh so tender. For dessert we had a creme brûlée and the chocolate peanut butter torte…the desserts were phenomenal!!! We could have easily made a meal of the appetizers and dessert.

Second, the different courses came out with timing that was just short of perfection. It left me with no doubt that our server had to be watching for us to finish with a course to tell the kitchen to prep our next dish. We finished our appetizers, the dishes were cleared and we had a couple of minutes and our soup and salad appeared. Once again we finished, the dishes were cleared and we had a few minutes to settle before our steaks appeared. Once we were finished with the main course we were offered a dessert menu and within a couple minutes of ordering, our desserts were delivered.

Finally, the service was beyond compare in this day and age. Our server was attentive and the assistant servers kept our water glasses full and the plates we were finished with were cleared away promptly. Staff checked in on us at the most perfect intervals without being overbearing. For as busy as they were I’m absolutely amazed!! I hope that these amazing people are recognized by the owners.

We will most certainly be returning the next time we want a fancy and romantic dinner!! However I will be sure to make a reservation regardless of the time of year or day!

This is definitely the hot spot in door county. The place to be. Wall to wall people from 4pm-10pm. Called and made a reservation 2 days in advance. Got right in when we checked in and they started seating people. Servers were very attentive to us and our needs. 6 of us in total. All completely satisfied, except for the fact they didn’t have Sea Bass this night, but everything we did order was PHENOMENAL!!

The restaurant is welcoming and warm. We were fortunate to get a table without a wait and sat down. We were greeted by a friendly and professional server named Mark. He offered recommendations and the food is some of the best in Wisconsin. We started crab cakes and calamari. The dishes were incredible, and were followed shortly after with fresh salads. The main course for me was a filet and my wife had the salmon. The entrees were prepared perfectly and to finish it off we had a creme Brule. We will definitely come back and would recommend this to anyone for fine dining.

Thank you for making our 42nd Anniversary very special. We arrived an hour early to relax at the bar. Jason was so personable and talkative plus he kept a close eye on our drinks to make sure we never run dry. And the meal was outstanding. Romeo our server was the same as Jason. He was genuine and a hard worker. He took our Anniversary picture and we are so grateful. We are coming back up in April and will be eating here again. This was our first time at Alexander’s and it won’t be our last. We strongly recommend this awesome dining experience and atmosphere. Jeff and Cheryl Chippewa Falls WI

I am not joking when I say that this is one of the best meals I have had in a long time! They started with the warm Italian bread which was perfect. We enjoyed the escargot appetizer which was served inside a puff pastry and it was absolutely amazing and different than any other restaurant where I have ordered escargot. The creamy mushroom chicken soup was so flavorful and amazing. My wife had the swordfish topped with crab meat and she absolutely loved it. My ribeye was cooked to Perfection and the au gratin potatoes were perfect. Our waitress Claudia was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and not overbearing at all. The only negative I can come up with, would be that we were seated outside in a covered patio with a view of the next door neighbor house and their dirt Mounds but the food was so good that we didn’t care! Highly, highly recommended!

Our server was phenomenal and she was working her fanny off!! The food was very good but not quite a five! Portions are large. Large crowd, kind of loud, means smaller groups can get looked over. Go earlier in the evening so you don’t feel rushed.

Food was very delicious. Classic High end restaurant with good size portions. Restaurant was really loud so better to get there at 7:30 and enjoy your meal as people are clearing out. Reservations are essential. Call early in the day or even days in advance. It’s a popular place. Great date restaurant. If you don’t have a reservation and have to wait for a table the bar is a nice option. With drink, appetizers, main meal, and wine with dinner, the bill was over $120 for two.

We’ve been frequenting this restaurant for years, and it’s only improved over time. Every area has its best restaurant, and this one is the place to be. Be prepared to spend your hard-earned money, but it’s totally worth it.

We had a reservation, and we were seated promptly at the scheduled time. We arrived a bit early and found a cozy and comfortable bar to wait in. There’s free parking, but it can get crowded during peak hours.

The service was impeccable. Everything ran smoothly and on time.

This time, we decided to try the lobster bisque soup. It wasn’t as thick as we had anticipated, but it still had the rich essence of lobster and was generously filled with chunks of lobster meat. The bread was served hot, but the butter was served cold.

I opted for the pork chop à la Chloe, which was undoubtedly the best pork chop I’ve ever had. It was a tomahawk cut, sliced open on the side, and filled with a delightful combination of cheese and prosciutto. The pork chop was cooked to perfection and was covered in a luscious mushroom wine sauce. It was served with a side of cauliflower cheese au gratin potatoes, and an assortment of perfectly cooked vegetables.

My wife chose the Sea Bass with a lobster Bernaise sauce. It was served perfectly cooked with asparagus and cauliflower mashed potatoes.

Both dishes were accompanied by an array of delectable microgreens.

For dessert, we indulged in the decadent chocolate cake and the amaretto cherry gelato. Each dish was unique in its own way, reasonably priced and a certainly delicious.

We had these desserts served with lemonade, which was perfectly sweetened to complement the rich flavors of the desserts.
