Such a cute little pub. Very rustic. Definitely a hidden find and one we will surely be back to try again. The food was very reasonably priced and had great flavor.

Having grown up in England going to the local pub this is the exact feeling of Alexander Micheal’s restaurant. Always friendly excellent service and hearty delicious food. We live in the mountains and every time we come to Charlotte if we need to eat this is where we come.

Was recommended to try this place by a few people. Space itself is very hidden but it’s worth a try. Food was reasonably priced and it tasted great! I gave 4 stars just cause my server was very slow and not too attentive.

really loved the atmosphere — it feels like a real old-school tavern, warm and relaxed. I had a sandwich with gravy and fries, and it was hearty and delicious. staff were friendly, and the whole place has that “local pub” charm

Alexander Michael’s in Uptown Charlotte is a cozy, old-school tavern with serious charm. I tried the “What It Is” and absolutely loved the Cajun cream sauce, rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The bread pudding was the ideal finish: warm, comforting, and delicious. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, tucked into the historic Fourth Ward. Great spot for comfort food with character!

We loved our visit to Alexander Michael’s in Charlotte. We visited on a Wednesday evening for dinner and it wasn’t busy.
We got their Cajun fries(highly recommend them), What it is and a Chicken Sandwich. The fries tasted spicy, fresh and crispy. The chicken and the rotini pasta in What it is were quite fresh too, and so was the chicken sandwich.
The vibes inside are those of a dimly lit European tavern. Our server Lacey went out of her way to serve us, and was quite accommodating with all our requests.
Parking nearby can be difficult to find(street parking), and the place can get busy on weekends. To maximise your experience, I recommend visiting on a weekday. I’ll be back here soon.
Overall, it’s a wonderful place to dine-in in Charlotte.

This was our first time visiting. The restaurant is in a neighborhood and for us it was a little difficult to find as our navigation was taking us all over but we finally found it. There is no parking lot so you have to find parking on the street. By accident we parked in a tow away zone and the waitress saw us and immediately came out and told us so we immediately moved the car. That was super kind of her and we appreciated that so we did not get towed!
Inside it was nice and we got seated right away. There is a lot on the menu that looked delish. I settled on a pasta dish with chicken, but the chicken was a little dry but still tasted good. My friend got a different pasta dish and she said hers was really good. Prices seemed far and service was great.
I would recommend if you are in the area. It was 50 minutes from our house and would not have visited if we were not going to see a show after dinner only due to the drive, but glad we did. Would recommend!

Food was delicious. The blackened catfish was moist and juicy. My family had different pastas with chicken. The “What it is” was very good too.
For a busy Saturday the food came out quickly and the waitstaff was attentive. We will be back!

First time there. I had the hot turkey sandwich (open faced) with fries. Absolutely delicious! Our waitress was friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was very relaxing. I loved their choice of music (not sure if it’s always like that, but during my meal it was perfect). Definitely would go back!
