Alex Bar-B-Q, July 29, 2025 Tuesday night it was a late dinner me & my daughter & my granddaughter & her boyfriend & his brother we all came here after seeing the reviews on Google maps & after spending the day at ️ Pismo Beach. Alex Bar-B-Q was everything we were hoping for & so much more! The service was so awesome & the food was so delicious & the portions were so big & filling plus their “Bar-B-Q” sauce was like no other the flavor & the taste ! The atmosphere was so nice & so friendly the staff & the people at the bar & in the restaurant. Thank You to everyone for making our night out a special one! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐’s & %+ Great Job!

Not the first time I have been here and all the other times have been good. We went there for Valentines day. The service was good and the food was whatever. However my daughter ordered the chicken kabobs, and the chicken wasn’t cooked all the way, absolutely disgusting, She ate the sides and wasn’t that hungry, so we brought it home with us and thats when we discovered the chicken wasn’t cooked throughly. Definitely not planning on going back.

We had dinner at Alex Bar-B-Q in downtown Pismo and it was fantastic! We ordered the Margarita Pizza and the BBQ ribs, and both were excellent. The ribs were huge, incredibly tender, and full of flavor—definitely a highlight of the meal. The pizza was fresh and delicious as well. On top of that, the atmosphere was great—lively, welcoming, and perfect for a relaxed evening out. Highly recommended.

Checked out Alex Bar-B-Q on this Memorial Day weekend with family. I have lived on the Cental Coast for 12 years and used to go to Alex Bar in Shell Beach and am so excited to see it reopen again in Pismo Beach. The atmosphere has a nice vibe and that old Alex Bar feel. Definitely recommend Alex Bar-B-Q for good drinks, good food, and a great place to chill.

We had a party of 7 traveling. Let me tell you the service here is top notch. The drinks are good! Very worth the price we had a strawberry margarita and the other person in our party got a blackberry margarita. Both of them were great. The food itself, was DELICIOUS. We had the fancy fries, bomb Mac and cheese and bbq roast beef and bbq chicken pictured below. Hands down, we are coming back next time we travel through the beach cities.

Recently the beeef ribs, which ive always loved, were changed-up. A full rack al-lacarte was $41… Now theyre asking for more than that for a half rack… I was sooo dissapointed. The manager said the ribs were bigger now, wow, was she not exxagerating. The new beef ribs are monstrous. So, if youve been coming here and loving the beef ribs and you’re sceptical, I can tell you you’re getting much more now, for the money, even though the number of ribs are fewer. Litterally one rib will feed two people now. They did forget to put sause on the ribs or on the side, so id suggest making sure the sauce is there before leaving with your take-out order.

BREAKFAST is the overlooked secret of this outstanding BBQ venue!! Anybody who’s been there can attest to the quality not just of their BBQ, but every item on their menu. And although there are some other well known breakfast establishments in the vicinity, you really owe it to yourself to give Alex breakfast menu a shot. I had a BYO omelette w bacon, peppers, onions and spinach (sorry I was too hungry to slow down and take a pic!), country potatoes and sourdough. This omelette dwarfs the size of anything comparable i’ve had in the area and it was simply outstanding, they do not skimp or mess around with their ingredients. Plus the service and vibe of the place is just fantastic… every worker (Bar Mgr, Wendy… and bartender, Jason in this case) has personality to burn and genuine interest in making your experience a good one. Ownership and management have done an amazing job transforming this place from its previous incarnation and making it a vibrant, fun, quality place to eat and drink. Kudo’s Alex, you’ve won me over!!

Service was great- food was flavorless and over priced for the quality- all I could eat was the coleslaw which was really good and the fries- the pulled pork sandwich was flavorless as were the baby back ribs- never had “BBQ” this bad before. Probably a good place to come for a drink but I would not order anything other than the slaw and fries off the food menu. Was really disappointed because we love BBQ!
