One of the not so pleasant restaurant experiences Ive had. I tried to by pass the cold bland de o & atmosphere because that’s no so important & I want to support my own, however half the menu was out of stock, all the food we order was Cold after waiting 20mins for it. Which can make you sick as far as Bacteria andfood codes are concerned. Big fatty cold tough oxtails. Anyone who cooks oxtails knows they have to cook for a very long time, especially if they’re the giant ones. Because of this, I’m sure that they are already pre-cooked, However they were undercooked. They tried to rewarm them and they weren’t rewarmed properly. Cold potatoes. Jar gravy Canned/old looking cabbage which was warm by the way, probably the only thing that was. Mac has absolutely no cheese! You cannot put Mac on your menu at a soulfood restaurant if you’re not going to deliver soul food style baked Mac and cheese. Green beans taste, canned kind of like glory. First biscuit was raw like I literally pulled the dough apart, like a mozzarella cheese stick, 2nd biscuit was burnt Visually and to taste. Boil a bag rice. When ask for lemonade, they come out and pour your lemonade in your glass from a $1.50, 2 Liter Minute Maid from Walmart. Me and my husband are chefs & because we cook so much sometimes we enjoy going out and just letting someone else do it for us. It was a disappointment quite frankly. We actually didn’t eat or pay but instead kindly expressed our dissatisfaction & left. We went and grabbed Philly cheesesteaks…..It’s a never again for me.

1st time me and my bestfriend went here to eat and I must say, we will be returning. We spoke with the owner and she was so nice and respectful, great customer service. Food is on point and you get your money worth. We went up there to do Take-out but the vibe is so relaxing and inviting, that we ended up dining-in. Live Band on Saturday nights from 6pm-9pm. This place is a must-go.

Walking into the restaurant it was very elegant and nice. The server we had she was nice but also kind of forgetful. If I would have read the reviews on the wait time on food I would have eaten something before coming. By the time I got my food other people in my party was either done or asking for boxes. The spaghetti is made to order. Veggies does not come with the meal, they are priced at $4 per vegetable. The oxtails were very fatty (5 of us ordered the oxtail and had the same issue), it would be nice if some of the fat could have been trimmed off especially if your slow cooking them it will retain its tenderness with little fat. The mozzarella squares were good nice cheese pull, greens beans were good as well. Mac and cheese is a hit or miss. The asparagus is a definitely no. I understand having a party and charging a service fee, however your service fee also determines the tip which is inconvenient because the server forgot certain food, a guest party was told 10 mins on wings which took almost 45 mins after complaining about the meatloaf and I received my food after everyone was almost done with theirs. It would be nice if all food came out at the same time when dealing with parties

My sister is a repeat customer so we chose this place for her surprise retirement celebration.It was my first visit and I liked the atmosphere right away. We had a separate area for our group of about 20. Seating & lighting was beautiful. The southern soul food menu had several main course options. While I ordered the smothered turkey wings and shared lemon cake with my niece, I was able to sample other dishes my family ordered. The oxtail were tender and divine. Shrimp and grits were presented in a non-traditional, creative design. Beef tips with rice or mashed potatoes were excellent. Sides like Mac n cheese, yams and collards rate high on our list. I will be returning. I think a meat with two sides will start at around $30.

Waited to be seated because the host was in the back running his mouth (his words, not mines). Then Waited 20 minutes to get club soda, due to waiting on ice. This was a Thursday night, no one was waiting and it wasnt much ppl inside. My friends ordered appetizers which was ok. The waitress let us know the food would be a little longer (already Waited 45 mins atp). The biscuits taste like doughie whole wheat. Immediately after eating a few bites my stomach started cramping. Well finally the food is brought out and it looked edible….let’s just say we asked for boxes to go paid and left. Not a great experience, definitely won’t be back. I came home and gave my brother my food….he said it was trash . The chicken taste like it was cooked with shake n bake. Mac n cheese not seasoned well. And collards ….over seasoned.

The atmosphere was excellent. The customer service and food was amazing. The price was manageable. Love it will come back. I had the Turkey wings, mashed potatoes and yams. Great! My husband had the fried pork chops, pinto beans with onions and cabbage. Great! Sorry my pics aren’t great but the food was!!!

Gentleman at the front door and bartender area were very friendly. Beautiful vibes and lovely live music. However, I made an order to go and everything looked ok but when I made it home I noticed my wings were re-fried (hella greasy) and my mac and cheese was light skin (dang near white…where the cheese?). The greens were good and the yams were ok. Maybe they treat in house orders better but I knew something was up when my food was ready in 10 minutes. It take wings a good 15-20 to cook if they fresh! I would come back but I’d order drinks only and maybe something baked instead. The flavor on the wings were good… just fried in grease twice ( I will say I did place my order at 7:48pm but they dont close until 9pm). A bit agitated because I don’t return food for fear of an angry chef but a waste of $30. I did enjoy the live music while I waited in my food. I refered a friend as well. I can’t vouch on the food persay but live music and some drinks fo sho!

My experience was awesome! We were greeted with a very warm welcome! It’s nice inside. I love the space and the music is a great vibe. The food was delicious! I had the fried chicken, mac and cheese, yams and collard greens. I also had the shrimp and grits and apple pie! My friend had the turkey wings and mashed potatoes. It was all very flavorful and we enjoyed it all! They give you some warm biscuits with a delicious sauce yummy! I also had two drinks which got the job done. Jayla was our server and she was very attentive and amazing! Thank you Jayla! The owners came out to greet us which I thought was really nice! Very sweet couple! The parking is good. The prices are reasonable as well! I highly recommend this restaurant and I will try it again!
