I read about this place and wanted to visit. I thought it was only a bakery but they also serve breakfast and lunch. They have inside and outside tables. The food is French inspired. I had quiche, hubby had breakfast croissant. Delicious. We also had a brownie and a pistachio creme croissant. OMG! You will get your own coffee, water and utensils if you order at the counter. Service is friendly and timely. We will definitely be back.

What a gem in downtown SB! Amazing selection of desserts and pastries. We sat in the window and enjoyed our breakfast too. The breakfast sandwich & croque monsieur were packed with flavor & huge portions. They serve Verve coffee too.

We had breakfast at Alessia while passing through on a road trip and it was so good we stopped by on our way back. The shop has a wonderful, beautiful selection of pastries but get there early! Our first stop, we stopped by at around 9 am and the pastry case was full but on our second stop, we got there a little before1 pm and there was almost nothing left. We tried the almond croissant, pistachio cream croissant, kougin amann, gianduja croissant, and butter croissant. Everything was excellent but my favorites were the pistachio cream and gianduja croissant. The kougin amann wasn’t as sweet as other kougin amann I have had. We also had breakfast and really enjoyed the duck confit hash and french omelette. I loved my chai tea latte. We picked up two desserts as well – black forest tart and candy bar. Both were beautiful and tasted amazing although the kirsch in the black forest was a bit strong for me. There is a bathroom at the restaurant and both indoor and outdoor seating. No parking lot but street parking was easy enough when we visited. Alessia is a must stop when you are in Santa Barbara!

The food was delicious and the pastries also. The croissants were still good the next day. The wait staff had very good service. I’d give a 5 start but one of the young ladies at the counter that was getting the croissants I wanted seemed like I was bothering her. I asked for 3 croissants and she said she’d put them in a bag. There was a large wall display of pretty pink boxes right behind her so I asked if I could get a box. She told me I’d have to get 2 more items for a box. So, I said ok and picked out two more. Then she grabbed a plain white box and began putting my items in there. So, I said, wait, I wanted a pink box. Then she told me those are only for the cakes. I’m just assuming, but being that the pink boxes were displayed right behind her and the only ones I could see, I think it’s safe to assume she should have had a very strong idea that I wanted a pink box… and she just didn’t want to be very helpful. I think it would have been very helpful if she would have just clarified what i needed to buy to get a pink box. It would have sped things up. Especially, because I was feeling like I was taking too long and again as if I was bothering her. So, I said never mind then I won’t buy the extra croissants if I’m just going to get a plain white box. Which caused her to call out to someone at the register to cancel my order… which was ridiculous because they could have easily figured out how many items I had in the bag… i got the feeling she did that to embarrass me, although I wasn’t. Anyway, we ordered, spent $85 for breakfast and few pastries and macaroons. Which is very expensive compared to other patisseries. I had resolved to not go here again after this because of the not so great service and the surprise at the price for a breakfast i had to at a counter. But, then I asked our server what was up with the boxes and then not being used for every customer? He said they are running low on them. So, I totally got it. Had the girl just said that in the beginning or explained what I had to buy to get one I wouldn’t have felt so slighted. I might have just bought a cake also but after the unhelpful attitude she had I just wanted to get on with ordering, eat and leaving. I felt underwhelmed and like i was just wasting money at a place that didn’t value my patronage. But, after talking to our server about it he actually got me a box for my 5 items. So, he saved the day. I think it’s very important to choose your first point of contact staff carefully, they really set the tone for customers’ experiences. And although she was not actually rude she just wasn’t very helpful. I don’t know, maybe she was tired because it was a busy morning. Everyone can have an off day.

This place is really famous for its croissant. Every flavor of croissant is gorgeous! The waiters and waitresses were so friendly and cute. The dining environment is clean and organized. However, the coffee we had was not the best. Next time we’ll try other drinks here!

The croissants were really delicious especially the pistachio. The mushroom toast and breakfast sandwich was also excellent. The only complaint was that we couldn’t dine in because it was so busy and there was limited seating because of the rain. They didn’t have the outdoor seating available. Must visit in Santa Barbara.

Great brunch! I had the breakfast sandwich and chai latte and they were delicious. Also highly recommend the croissants. We went for brunch on Sunday at 11 and took four of about 10 minutes until a table was ready, but I imagine that was the busiest it gets. Street parking is nearby and free for 2 hours or all day on Sunday.

The food here is out of this world. Along with the service. Even when it’s crazy busy, everyone is extremely sweet, professional and attentive with ever interaction. I will definitely be coming back here every time I’m back in Santa Barbara.

All the pastries were very pretty but they were too sweet to my liking. It’s probably a good idea to have just one at a time with a cup of tea just to diminish the sweetness a little. Overall very cute bakery with various options.
