Aleria – Athens – a MICHELIN Guide Restaurant
Reviews
Came for a birthday celebration and the entirety of the staff ensured it was an evening to remember. From the very first moment, until the conclusion of our evening 3 hours later, the staff did not miss a single beat in delivering impeccable service.
We enjoyed both 7-plate tasting menus as well as a refined selection of wine and offerings from the sommelier. Without doubt, this is gearing to be one of the greatest culinary efforts in Athens.
I am elated to say that this restaurant is one to yearn for. Excellent in every regard.
We went with 6 courses, got two starters and from the very first starter we could tell that we were in good hands. Everything was tasty, well composed and the sommellier had done a great job in her selection of wines which all complemented the food to perfection.
Thanks to everybody at Aleria!!!
I’ve always thought that small, multi-flavored portions are… well, kind of fancy. Beautiful, refined — but usually you still end up craving a proper gyro afterward.
This time? Surprisingly — no.
Right, Nikolos?
Service – A+++
They are on top of everything when it comes to service. Very attentive with refilling drinks, replacing your plates and silverware, seeing if you have questions/need anything, and checking to see you’re happy with the food. They even offered to call us a taxi for pickup and walked us out to the taxi when it arrived.
Menu – large variety of drinks to choose from. The food menu is limited to specific courses for vegetarian and non-vegetarian. While that may make someone very picky hesitant, read this next section before you let that impact any decisions on making a reservation. You can pick from a variety number of courses.
Food – A+++
They live up to the Michelin star rating with the flavors of the food. My wife and I are big time foodies and we were very impressed with the amazing flavors of the food. I personally am not a seafood fan outside of sushi and I really enjoyed the seafood courses. We did the non-vegetarian 7 course meal and loved it. Probably our favorite meal while in Greece.
Cost – This is a high end restaurant that offers top tier service. You should expect to spend no less than $100 per person. $150 per person if you’re getting drinks with the food. But it’s absolutely worth it in our opinion.
We highly recommend reserving and enjoying a date night, special celebration, or just a nice and classy dinner at Aleria. Top tier food and service!
The meal unfolded with an amuse bouche and ended several hours later with an equally amazing digestif. In between we were treated to a dance of amazing flavor combinations and the most sumptuous lamb I have ever had. Each course and wine were paired perfectly, and we were very pleased that the red was an “Earth and Sky” from northern Greece, a wine we had discovered days earlier in Thessaloniki. 5 courses were perfect for us but you should try 6 or 7 if you skip luncheon. The Amberjack course was a delightful surprise.
The staff was knowledgable, unobtrusive and professional, with a sense of humor thrown in. They made for an amazing evening. Thank you. Excellent service is a treasure.
GO NOW BEFORE THEY GET A MICHELIN STAR BECAUSE YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO GET IN ONCE THEY DO. We’ve eaten at street food vendors to Starred restaurants around the world, this was one of the best. RUN, don’t walk, and enjoy Aleria’s offering to the Culinary World today so you can say “I was there when . . . “
I took no photos of the meal except for the palate cleanser, the butterfly accent was just too amazing not to document!!
Wow wont be enough , thank you so much i had a wonderful time and enjoyed every bite!
11/10
I had the pleasure of enjoying a 7-course tasting menu and the evening was truly unforgettable. Each course was beautifully crafted, balancing creativity, flavor, and presentation in a way that felt both refined and deeply satisfying.
What truly elevated the experience, though, was our server, Panos. His service was exceptional—warm, attentive, and effortlessly professional.
The pacing was perfect, the ambiance elegant yet relaxed, and the entire evening felt like a seamless journey through modern Greek gastronomy. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a standout fine dining experience in Athens— Go to Aleria and ask for Panos!
