The Aldridge Cafe is a popular “old school diner”, located at a downtown hotel.
I had the weekly “special lunch”. The fried catfish, very good
Hush puppies, very good
Fries, just OK
Coleslaw, very good
Beans, not good
Tartar sauce, good
Recommended, nice change from “corporate” restaurants.

The coffee was great. It was pretty busy considering how dated the place is. Very faded and grungy in its appearance. The power would shut off for a second and come back on. Seemed like the staff was use to it. Mirrors all over the place. You couldn’t look anywhere without see yourself. Was odd. The food was decent, still though with the cold gravy, I don’t understand that. Burrito wasn’t folded like a burrito and crisped to the point I couldn’t fold it like a burrito which was odd to me. It’s worth trying, I just wasn’t overly impressed.

The wait was worth it. We went at the busiest time. The atmosphere was like going home. We will return. We fell in love with the staff and owner.
Sincerely the wife of Kevin.

Excellent breakfast! The chicken fried steak, “the mess” omelet, and the crispy hash browns were so good! Unfortunately, by 11 am (Friday) they were out of their famous biscuits. Good portions for a good price. I highly recommend this place!

Great small cafe we found while passing through. This was 1/2 of a chicken fried steak. Everything made fresh. Really nice owner & wait staff. Good pie too. Really worth a stop.

Apart from knowing the owner I’ve always gone to the Aldridge Cafe with my father who is an attorney across the street. I always love the wait staff. It’s very personal downhome feel to it with the same kind of food that she would expect to eat down home with family and friends here in the south I love it

A delicious old school diner/cafe experience. The chicken fried steak sandwich is big, crispy and tasty. A new favorite spot.
PS You’ll never have to ask for a coffee refill.

Not bad but not but not great. No drink refill until we were about to leave. Then when checking out they charged in increments of $5.
