Alberto’s Ristorante was established in 1984 at which time, Northern Italian cuisine and fresh homemade pasta were introduced to Cape Cod for the first time. Since then, we have continued this tradition of all fresh ingredients and in-house preparation of every course from the soups to the desserts.
Our reputation for casual elegance arises from our emphasis on decor, service, the pride we take in food preparation, and our affordability.
Italian standards & New England seafood in a traditional space with fireplaces & sidewalk seating.

I usually do not leave reviews because my husband and I are hard to impress….but I couldn’t wait to get back to our vacation rental to leave this review. First off, hopefully you will be lucky enough to get Tulio as your server. He was AMAZING from start to finish. The bread was delicious served with olive oil and olives. We opted not to go for appetizers due to both of us coming off two days of severe food poisoning at an upscale steakhouse (Boston) and stomachs still a tad queasy. My husband decided on the filet, which I was concerned about, and I am a pasta junkie so I went with the chicken alla vodka (requested spicy). My pasta was al dente and the chicken was so moist and tender. The sauce I wanted to bottle up. As to the steak, there is no telling how many has entered into my husband’s belly in the course of his international/domestic travels. He is a steak snob quite frankly. To my surprise, he rated it as a tie between his favorite steakhouse in Greenville, SC. I give the win to Alberto’s….his place SPECIALIZES in steaks it is SUPPOSED to be good …..We opted for dessert and let me tell you that did not disappoint either. The apple crisp was to die for and I forsee another one in our future before we head out on Saturday. Hyannis is lucky to have an old school Italian establishment like this and I hope locals and tourists alike will support them!

Alberto’s Ristorante is a gem in Hyannis! The food is consistently delicious, from their fresh seafood dishes to house-made pastas. The service is friendly and attentive, making you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is warm and inviting — perfect for a date night or family dinner. The wine list and desserts are also fantastic. Definitely one of the best Italian restaurants on Cape Cod — I’ll be coming back!

Alberto’s ristoranti is one of a kind. I live on Nantucket and whenever I have a chance I go there. The food is delicious and I said to my friend: Chef of the kitchen must have been a chef for last 20 years. You can really taste a difference between authentic Italian restaurant and modern fake Italian place. Alberto’s will always be in my heart. There’s nothing better than the shrimp and scallop fiorentina washed with raspberry martini. Homemade indgridients with a lot of love. Service perfect. This photo was actually the photo of my first Osso buco in my life. Thanks Alberto’s!

I have done a number of restaurant reviews on here. Some very critical but always honest. I spent most of my adult life in restaurants. Alberto’s is a classic old time Italian ristorante. When we entered I told the manager how excited I was because they had Osso Bucco on the menu and it is so rare to see it offered. He walked us to our table and we talked for a few minutes. He told us about his first experience serving Osso Bucco and he brought a steak knife to the table. Uh oh. We had a good laugh. Very personable.
Our server was just finished training and this was her first night on her own. I am sorry for forgetting her name. But she was very professional. College student. I obviously knew what my entree was going to be and my friend ordered short rib. The manager had mentioned how good their meatballs are. I am very reluctant to order meatballs out because they tend to be dense. And I make killer balls. But we did decide to split the appetizer and also split the Caesar salad. The meatballs were out of this world. And the sauce was perfect. OMG The salad was in the top three of Caesar salads I have ever had. And I have had many.
The entree was served with risotto but I had mine with mashed potato. No steak knife was brought…or more emphatically needed. A fork did the job. Tender, minimal fat, with a wonderful Barbero wine sauce. It was exquisite. Fulfilled my every expectation. My friend’s short rib was equally tender and flavorful.
Now about the desert menu. They offer a sample plate of three deserts. Duh. That is what we had. You need to know that I am the cheesecake king of my area. Alberto’s makes most of their deserts in house, of course. When that is the situation and they offer cheesecake I order it. So we had cheesecake with white chocolate chunks, bittersweet chocolate topping, Oreo crust, and raspberry sauce…delicious layer of chocolate cake topped with a very thick layer of chocolate mousse…and tiramisu. I don’t like the flavor of coffee so I didn’t try the tiramisu but my companion said it was the best he ever had. I will finish with the advice that you should not deny yourself the experience of Alberto’s. You will not be sorry. (My apologies for the lack of photos. I was so excited I forgot until I was half done.)

Excellent Caesar salad, and very good chicken in vodka sauce over penne. I requested two cherry peppers on the side, and the chef kindly provided them. I added slices of the hot pepper to the vodka sauce to give it some heat. The resulting dish was similar to Chicken Riggies, a popular regional dish found on menus at Italian restaurants in upstate New York. I recommend you skip the garlic bread appetizer and enjoy the complimentary warm bread provided for the table with requested butter. UPDATE-1: The Caesar salad is still exceptional. You can taste the garlic and anchovies as expected in a good Caesar dressing. For the first time, I ordered Alberto’s chicken which comes with mushrooms, sauteed red and yellow bell pepper strips, and quartered, marinated artichokes in a very delicious sauce. This is one of the best dishes I’ve had in an Italian restaurant in years. Highly recommended! My wife enjoyed the meatball appetizer and a side of pasta with marinara sauce. She also enjoyed the mushrooms that accompanied her chicken marsala but thought the sauce was a bit thin and didn’t adhere well to the chicken. The service was excellent and the ambience was great for sharing food with friends and family. There are a lot of tourist-trap type restaurants in Hyannis, but Alberto’s is the real deal and it’s why they draw enough local diners to stay open all year. UPDATE-2: I repeated my order of Caesar salad followed by Alberto’s chicken. An excellent meal. Our friend ordered the shrimp and scallop Florentine and my wife created her own combination by ordering a manicotti appetizer plus a side of seared scallops. Both enjoyed their meal.

Alberto’s has quickly become one of our favorite places to dine. We’ve visited twice, and both experiences were consistently excellent. Our servers, Bo and Tulio, deserve special mention. Bo was kind, welcoming, and attentive during our first visit, and Tulio matched that same level of care on our second. It’s rare to find that kind of consistent hospitality, and they both made us feel genuinely valued.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Both times we were fortunate enough to sit near the fireplace, which made the experience even better; a perfect way to settle in and enjoy a relaxed evening.
The food is outstanding. I’ve had the Chicken Parmigiana as well as the Shrimp & Scallops Orvietto, and both dishes were delicious, well-prepared, and full of flavor. Their drink menu is just as impressive. I’ve ordered Alberto’s Breeze twice now, and it hasn’t disappointed; a thoughtful balance of alcohol and flavor without being overwhelming.
This is the type of restaurant that keeps you coming back: great food, excellent service, and an atmosphere you actually look forward to. Five stars without hesitation.

My wife and I came here for our 10 year anniversary, the food and service was excellent , we got a bottle of wine , she got chowder and tortellini, and I got a house salad and chicken parm. It was all so good , our server was very attentive but did not rush us at all. They even gave us a dessert sampler for our anniversary. Thank you for providing us one of the best dinners we ever had, on our special night. We will be back here again next time we come to the Cape.

Hosted a baby shower here in July. From booking till the end of our function Darko the owner was awesome. Went above and beyond to make our function perfect. Waitstaff outstanding. Always present, went out of there way to be so attentive. Food outstanding, room beautiful. Most of all the attention that was given by everyone to make this day so perfect was unbelievable. We got so many texts and calls the next day just to let us know how great everything was. Thank you to everyone at Alberto’s. It was perfect.

My girlfriend and I were on a trip for her birthday and I made reservations here. The atmosphere was great, our server and host were both fantastic and helpful. My girlfriend enjoyed her seafood dish very much, but I found my food to be quite disappointing for the cost of dinner and she agreed after tasting. Osso bucco was very dry and almost tasteless except for the faint taste of carrot that it was cooked with, despite being covered in sauce. The risotto was honestly very undercooked and very dry, even after soaking up a solid quarter cup of liquid from the plate. The meal was actually Barely warm and the meatball appetizer was barely warm as well. I’m not sure if it was an off time or what, because our other dish was great and very hot. The waiter helped us pick a great wine and was very attentive. He even put a candle in her dessert at the end. I would like to try this restaurant again, as it’s beautiful and in a great location.
