Alberto’s Lounge is a neighbourhood trattoria with a Roman heart and a Sydney soul. The menu roams across Italy’s many regions, celebrating the kind of food that’s best shared – hand-cut pasta, house-made gelato, a buttery crostini with a perfect snap, and mains made for the middle of the table. he bar celebrates all things Italian, classic cocktails with a twist, citrusy spritzes, bold Negronis, and an Amaro list, curated with reverence and treated as a work of art. Inside, the mood is warm and unpretentious. Vintage Italian posters spanning the 1950s to 1970s capture the essence of Italy’s golden era of cinema and design, a celebration of Italian style and creativity from plate to paintwork.
Warm, buzzy trattoria offering modern Italian cuisine along with an extensive wine list.

Alberto’s Lounge, Wine Bar Review
Reviews
The service is unparalleled and the food never fails to make me happy from the first bite.
I had the privilege of celebrating my wedding reception at Alberto’s last November, and Emily (their Head of Reservations) was so patient and helpful during the whole process! On the day, the FOH staff decorated the space so beautifully and were extra attentive and super lovely!
I also had my birthday dinner there recently, and Phoebe, Em and Sam made me feel super at home and made my birthday extra special 🙂
I’m always looking for an excuse to come back!
The ambience was cosy and vibrant, with great music and a funky touch that we both loved. Unfortunately, our table felt quite small, even for two people, which took a little away from the experience.
The staff were excellent, they’re all friendly, attentive, and always happy to help. A special mention to James, who looked after us so well throughout the night. We also really enjoyed the Dottore Pepe cocktail and ended up ordering it twice.
The food was good and full of flavour but didn’t quite have the wow factor we were hoping for. The Lumache al Forno was a letdown, with a smaller portion than expected and a spice level that overpowered the dish.
Dessert was the standout. The tiramisu was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced, making up for the main course.
The fish crudité was super fresh, but the rest of the food felt a bit overrated.
Tiramisu though… easily the best we’ve had in Sydney so far.
Our Italian waitress (from Milan/Piedmont) was super detail-oriented, explained every dish, and made us feel really comfortable.
Overall, a fun and lively place!
And if you’re going to treat yourself, forget everything else and pre-order the lobster. It is insane. Sweet, smoky, buttery, ridiculous, the kind of thing that makes you stop mid conversation. The summer menu is absolutely killer too, full of fresh, bright dishes that land like a punch in all the right ways.
The crew are legends, floating between tables, cracking jokes, making you feel welcome, invited, and like you’re part of a family.
It’s indulgent, it’s fun, it’s Sydney’s best romantic, slightly dangerous dinner night. If you’re splurging, this is the one.
