This is just the perfect eclectic place my wife and I look for. It’s rich in history and far from any chain restaurant. This is a family house converted to a restaurant and run by the same family for 80 years. The cook has been there for 30 years and lives upstairs. Our servers where attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was old in a pleasant way as you would expect. Our food was excellent and portions where normal. It’s a 2 hour drive from our home but we plan to go back again

I enjoyed the food and had a good server. Bit surprised to be served Butter with the Bread being the type of Restaurant is Atialan. Luckily I decided to have basic Oil and Vinegar on my Salad, luckily the Oil was Olive. Appropriately I made a little Oil and Spice from the Pepper and Salt to dip my Bread into, in the small dish to use before the main dishes were served. Worked out well. The Veal Cutlet was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. Zeety was slightly cold around the edges. Thier Red Saus was slightly acidaty and needed to be adjusted with a strong base like Suger or maybe even some Raisons to cut the acid, saus was quite hot, enjoyable to have hot food for hot food. The saus did help the Zeety heat up.
My Salad was enjoyable, tasted like it was made with fresh ingredients.
Thier Grated Cheese was finely grated and was in a small shaker. When I tried to get some out by shaking, it didn’t work out well, so I took the Cover off of the jar and then plenty came out. Seemed to be fresh Cheese, slightly moist, tasted well.
Chose to be seated in the Bar area since the main table area had a slightly noisy party eating and the place has some acoustics when only a few patrons are present and the Bar Tables were empty. Perfect for taking photos without disturbing the other patrons. The eating areas were set up quite nicely and were pleasingly to the eye. Nicely decorated not over done.
Place started to fill up when it was time for me to check out. This means enough vehicles are in the parking lot. That usually suggests that the food is good, if not people would not want to return for a bad meal, correct?
The menu is also the placemat for your Seating. What a perfect concept, always wondered if those plastic covered menus were cleaned from their previous use. I have seen other establishments wipe off theirs.
If you were meeting someone, it looked like a very comfortable couple of chairs just inside the entrance to use while you were waiting.
Plenty of room for parking and there’s a ramp up for people who have a hard time walking.
I need your help. Please check the Like button if you read all this and checked out my photos.
Thanks, Mr. P says ✔

A bit loud sometimes in bar section. Comfortable and less noise in dining rooms. Service varies considerably because they are often understaffed, especially when busy. Food portions vary wildly. Quite noticeable when multiple orders of the same dish are at a table. Family friendly.

My boyfriend and I had a wedding to go to up in Greenfield and he surprised me by stopping here in Bennington for dinner before we drove back home. When I saw this place, it looked like an apartment building but was very easy to find the entrance. I walked in and thought someone knew me but then found out her and I have the same name haha, funny stuff! I ordered Chicken Marsala, usually that meal includes plain pasta, chicken and the marsala sauce are on the same plate but this restaurant has 2 seperate plates and the pasta has tomato sauce on top in a bowl which I have no complaints, their food was absolutely amazing! I don’t remember the server’s name but she made me a rum and coke, and it was very good. Don’t drive by just by the looks of the building, you may miss out on an amazing opportunity to taste excellent food and meet great staff!

No wifi, no reception for cell. I stopped here for a burger, the burger was fantastic, however it seems they only cater to locals as the place was nearly empty and it took 35 minutes to get one cheese burger, unfriendly and judgemental location..

What a hidden gem! We accidentally drove past last night and decided to turn around, the parking lot was packed at 530 great sign right? Had to park way out back because it was packed, automatically start to think it must be good right? We were pleasantly greeted and seated immediately. While waiting a few minutes, we looked over the very basic but home style Italian menu! Basic but amazing! We had the fried raviolis as an appetizer, absolutely amazing homeade raviolis. Left us wondering if something so simple could be that good how was the main course gonna be? The waitress brought out outer salads, wow so fresh and so basic, but yet so good! Quickly it was followed up with our main courses. Chicken parm with ziti and Cajun Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo. I can’t even start to explain how fresh the Alredo tasted, so creamy and flavorful! The red sauce and the hand breaded Chicken cutlet, so amazing! The chicken had an amazing crunchy outer crust and juicy on the inside! We can’t recommend this restaurant enough. Unfortunately it’s off the beaten path and away from main cities. But if you happen by, or looking for something new, absolutely worth the stop!

Family went here once to try it out, and it did not impress us. The food was really bland and a long wait to get. The pricing is overprices in my opinion, but this spot it always packed. We might try it again one day, but there’s better options around, or making our own pasta at home. Staff was normal, didn’t go above and behind, it’s a dinner joint so they’re always busy during this time anyways.
The inside is a cute atmosphere, very new hampshire.

The food was amazing it just took forever to get it. We had our drinks. Our salad arrived before our appetizer. When the app did get to the table, we finished it and yhen waited another 30 min before our dinner got to the table. It was our anniversary and it was nice to spend time together but I feel like our waitress was paying attention to regular tables and completely forgot about us.

Charming old school restaurant. A hidden Jewel, but not so hidden that it isn’t very popular.
Third generation family run. Warm and friendly service.
Very good Italian food and a nice warm atmosphere.
There are two few of these old school places left around.
Will definitely be making many return visits!
