The atmosphere was nice, it was clean and cozy.
The lady that served us was so sweet and checked in multiple times.
Then we got the best Mexican food we’ve had since moving to MN.
It was delicious!
Even as leftovers (because my burrito was so big) it still tasted great!
We will definitely be back and will bring our kids next time too!
I payed $23.30 and got 3 quesabirria tacos, with rice and beans. 3 steak tacos. Order came with chips and salsa as well. Extremely fairly priced in my opinion.
Steak street tacos are good. Didn’t get a salsa verde with them but I also didn’t ask. Tastes perfectly fine without any sauce. They are a little salty but I think that a what made me like it without a sauce. The salsa served with the chips was good, it was on the mild side. Quesabirria tacos are phenomenal, not dry which can happen at some restaurants. The rice is amazing, good flavor to it. The beans taste like beans (I’m impartial). The consomé I think is the perfect size, at a different restaurant it’s a bigger one and then you just get left with a lot left over. This is perfect.
I didn’t get any drinks just because I did a take out order. I will very likely be back to sit down and try some more. Overall I would absolutely recommend the food is great.
We drove 30 minutes to get there and here’s what we found on a Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Two employees, our waiter was great. Great!
We were one of two tables and it took 35 minutes for our food to arrive. The first salsa was about 3 oz we asked for a second one and were charged $3.
I also asked for a red salsa and was charged $1.10. Pico de Gallo was outstanding, 5$, yep. Buyer beware.
The chicken tinga was dry at best, the shredded beef ( barbacoa) was good but not great, also tried the pork al pastor, very flavorful, but hardly any meat. The portions of the lunch special entrees were small, Really Small.
The rice was completely forgettable, the beans were soupy. Really not much food for $14. (Lunch Special)
The atmosphere was horrible, please read on. Drab Florescent lighting above. Here’s the biggie, at the exact same time they had ESPN on one television with the volume loud, they had a Disney movie on another tv with volume way up, and at the same time, they had a soundtrack of mariachi music over the loudspeakers. What the heck am I supposed to listen to? No conversation possible, really irritating.
Who’s in charge, and why is that ok?
Finally they had a flashing, rotating light at the bar (police like) which was flashing constantly over the entire dining room. Who is in charge?
Anyway, NEVER COMING BACK!!
Elko New Market has no other options, so the local folks go here. Sorry for you.
Suggestion: spend the gas money.
GO FIND BETTER.
Don’t settle for Alberta’s.

I received a reply from Alberto’s Mexican Restaurant that was completely written by Chat GPT and AI. Total fake. You think the owner actually cared?…NO! somebody just pressed a button. There is zero chance the owner actually wrote that reply…0.
Truly sad. But hey Elko New Market,
You can drive to get better or you can settle for Alberta’s
The atmosphere is simple and comfortable.
This is not a place to check out because it is close-by, it’s a place to drive down to if you like fresh quality Mexican foods!
