The Roving Foodie
The entire staff was perfectly midwestern, absolutely pleasant and nice. The place was clean and welcoming. I had the 3 meat platter with coleslaw and mac and cheese. The mac was slightly above average, good cheese, well cooked pasta, and nicely creamy. I was surprised with the slaw, I usually prefer a vinegar based slaw, this coleslaw was very good, it balanced the meat very well. The ribs were fantastic, well seasoned on their own and pared well with all table sauces. They fell off the bone but didn’t fall apart, a perfect balance. The sliced brisket was very tender and well seasoned, although a little dry for my taste. The sausage was the star of the plate in my opinion, juicy and perfectly seasoned, it needed nothing extra to be perfect. I highly recommend stopping in, I know I will next time I’m in Tulsa.

#1 I appreciate Albert G’s always has food available. That may sound glib but BBQ is a time-consuming food and there are places in town, however great they may be, that if you are not there within a short window, they run out of food. Albert G’s doesn’t have this issue. Feeling BBQ? They got it. Of course the flip side or trade off to that is a slight dip in flavor, maybe. But overall I’ve had great experiences at both locations and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. On my most recent to-go order, some fries were missing. The crew not only made me a fresh batch but made extra. Mistakes can happen but how someone responds is what matters and they showed a lot of care. The interior is also cool with vintage gas station signs and gear, and they’ve done a nice job adding on to the building while maintaining its charm. I’m sure I’ll be back before long!

No longer live in Tulsa but when I visit, I always stop at the S. Harvard location for BBQ. Everything is good. Ribs have a great smoke ring and flavor. Okra is wonderful. Staff friendly. Located in a former gas station (aren’t most?) where I used to fill up. Atmosphere is fine but Spartan. Most people get take away.

Ordered out, was there in 5 min to pick up I asked for all flats, when I got my food I got half flats and they were tough and cold like a day old. Waffle fries were cold like they had been sitting there for 1/2 a day, food was terrible! I’ve been to the downtown establishment many times. The Harvard establishment needs to do better! I rate them along with McDonald’s, although McDonalds probably would have had hot fries! I do not recommend!

“Baked in a buttery flaky crust” – well not quite. The catfish at Albert G’s BBQ on Harvard is a must-try. Available Fri only, this special is crispy, flaky, and moist. Ok. So I know we have a million BBQ places to choose from.. and they usually all have something good about them… this place has AMAZING ribs! I personally don’t even like ribs…. but I loved theirs! The sauce is spicy and sweet and has just the right consistency. HUGE portions. Definitely recommend it if you’re into BBQ. Oh, and the sweet potato waffle fries are so good!!! Liked the ribs so much i brought a couple home!

Ordered through DoorDash and two sides were missing. When I called the store they told me there was nothing they could do to make it right. They also gave me two dry slices of untoasted white bread. First and last time eating from here.

I ordered the two meat sandwich plus side dinner. This included chopped brisket, bologna and fries as the side. Everything was great, including the fast and friendly service. This location always has good food and the atmosphere is nice. Ordering online was quick and simple too. I highly recommend!

The meat is so tender. We.had sliced brisket and turkey with beans, coleslaw, and helped ourselves to the pickles (so crunchy), onions, and jalapeno and pepperoccini peppers for kick. If you like BBQ but don’t like a lot of smoke or salt, this is for you.
