Overall great spot for Vietnamese food. Fresh and delicious. I like how they have a small bowl of broth on the side for their rice plates. It’s a perfect pairing. The spring rolls are on point as well.

Great Pho place in Albany with reasonable price. The food is delicious with great serving, you typically only need to wait < 10 mins before your order is ready. There is parking next to the restaurant. Also, the atmosphere is great and the staff are really nice.

Pho family favorite!

Every time we are in town we come straight to this place. Staff are so family friendly. Food has been amazing for the past 6 years; never disappoints!

My go to is their Pho Chin, Nam, Ve Don which is Well-done brisket, well-done flank, and crunchy flank with extra lime squeezed. Everything is so fresh and homemade is at their best!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Really good food, portions and friendly service. We really like the Bun Cha Hanoi and would come back again for $18-19 per person. Great portions with plenty of meat, veggies and vegetables. This is one of the best Vietnamese places I gave eaten that is great quality, value and atmosphere. Highly recommend.

The Che Thai dessert is pretty good too and not too sweet

Albany Ao Sen easily serves up some of the best pho I’ve had in the Oakland area—rich, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. The broth is packed with depth, and every bite feels comforting and authentic. On top of that, the wait staff is friendly and attentive, making the whole dining experience feel smooth and welcoming.

The food comes out impressively fast, which is perfect when you’re craving something warm and delicious. And don’t sleep on the spicy marinated chicken—it’s a hidden gem on the menu that deserves way more attention. Bold, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. Highly recommend!

big space inside, sometimes you can get lost if you are seated in the corners, but thats okay cause the food comes out quick and its a lot of food, i love the only vegan option they have, 10/10

Nice pho restaurant. I often come here after a night of heavy drinking, when I’m craving a warm bowl of soup. Compared to other pho places in Albany/Berkeley, their dishes are cheaper and come with more meat. One hidden gem on the menu is the Korean short rib—very smoky and flavorful.

I would highly recommend this place. If you want a great appetizer, I would recommend the spicy fried chicken wing. Also, love the combo rice plate if you feel you want some variety and satisfaction. Of course the Pho, Bun Bo Hue, and Vietnames beef stew are all amazing. Make sure to have room, the portions are pretty large .

My family (2 small kids included) and I go here often. The staff is sweet to our messy children and they are fast and kind. The big win for this restaurant is their Korean style beef short ribs- they are so incredibly good. Crispy charred at the edges, juicy, sweet, savory- they are excellent. I think this is a hidden secret in the east bay- this dish typically goes for $15-20 more at other places than what Au Sen charges and those other places don’t come near to the flavor and quantity. We so love their fried egg rolls and pho tai. Everything we’ve had is great there!

Very tasty chicken pho, quick service. Quiet enough to talk easily, but not unpleasantly silent. A good place to meet with friends.
