Loved everything about Alara – the service, ambiance and food! Our waiter, Sasha, was very attentive! They serve freshly baked bread with yum olive oil and balsamic or pomegranate vinegar which was divine!! We Ordered the yogurt drink – a good probiotic boost. For food, got the muhmarrra, chicken Sheekh kebabs and non-sheekh kebabs – which came with rice and tasted very good! We also ordered the cheese and sausage flat bread – not so flat, was a very thick crust ChuckE- Cheese like pizza and must say, the only item we did not enjoy and will not order again! Did not get a tahini drizzle on the crème brûlée, was still very good! We also appreciated the baklava that they sent to the table for a celebration! All in all – really enjoyed this place and highly recommended!

I was recommended this place by a hotel concierge. I had high hopes and it started great with the bread and oil. Then it just went down hill when I received the salad and the food all come together. The fatoush salad was very poorly made the peppers were minced instead of being sliced. The bread inside the salad wasn’t chips it was croutons just very unprofessional and un authentic. The pide was good but very expensive a 12inch pizza size for $20. The chicken kebab was very spicy and came with a spoon full of rice. The adana was good flavor. The waiter also barely understood English and was very hard to communicate.

The only reason it gets a 3.5 is because they charge a 20% service fee and it’s not explicitly stated at the top of the menu. It’s almost like a disclaimer at the bottom of the menu which is somewhat of a bait and switch. There is also an implied dress code of fine dining business professional attire which can steer off those who want a more comfortable experience.

We still tipped our server, but the restaurant really should just up the prices of the menu items, instead of adding a ‘service fee’ which wasn’t even inclusive of tips to the servers. Also, I bet a lot of people see the service charge and then don’t tip the servers because they think the service charge was the tip to the servers.

Other than that, the food and service was excellent! The styling is more Americanized takes of Mediterranean food as the moussaka didn’t have any true béchamel sauce. It almost tasted like a lasagna, but it still tasted amazing.

The pricing is pretty steep and the portions are small, but because of the nice plating and kind service, I can overlook these issues. Also, the acoustics and set up of the place make it very loud so don’t go when it’s busy or else you won’t be able to hear your dining companion above all the noise and the club music.

Final note, there is an unspoken dress code which leads the host to seat people according to their attire.

I usually try to give every restaurant an honest review.
So with the plus, there was also a pretty big negative, that influenced the decision not to return.

We were very hungry and decided on Alara as it was close by.
As you enter the decor is extremely impressive.
We were seated fast, ordered fast & food came out fast.
Great!
It all looked really appetizing & everything was actually delicious.

Then the bill came. There is a 20% service fee added to all bills automatically to cover costs.
That 20% was probably what were were going to tip the waitress.

Having to add another ‘tip’ on top wasn’t in the planned budget.

Needless to say, first and last time which is unfortunate as we would have loved to try other menu options.

Turkish Alara offers an amazing brunch experience! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every dish was delicious and authentic, with plenty of variety. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing meal. Service was excellent as well—friendly and attentive. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a truly special brunch experience!

Do not eat all day if you do the taste of alara the food was delicious for a four course meal. The portion sizes are almost too good to be true for the price of $59.95!

I also enjoyed a Summer in Santorini. My large party and I enjoyed ourselves. Will certainly return!

We had such a wonderful experience at this Mediterranean restaurant! The food was absolutely amazing and so delicious. We only ordered appetizers, but they were more than enough and every bite was full of flavor.

Our server, Mia, made the experience even better, she was amazing! So respectful, attentive, and really took care of us throughout the meal. She had such a warm, positive energy that made us feel welcomed and happy to be there.

The ambiance was the best part of dining at Alara. The service was better than average, but became noticeably less attentive as the seats began to fill up. Drink orders were not taken for some of our guests until we requested to place them, and empty flatware wasn’t removed in a timely manner. The food was generally good, and all of our guests seem to have enjoyed their meal.

Unfortunately, I can only give an overall 3 stars for my experience at Alara because they are engaging in what I consider to be the extremely tacky practice of footnoting a 20% (not tip) service fee onto all checks. There is a note (in a tiny font) at the bottom of the menu stating that a 20% service fee is added to all checks to account for increased operational costs to ensure service delivery… Let’s be real. Alara has only been open since February of 2025 and this has been on the menu since they opened. It isn’t like they had operated at a lower cost before and needed to adjust. The fact that there is a note about the service fee not being a tip and that additional tips would be appreciated is just ridiculous. The restaurant has only been open for a year, and they should have just printed accurate prices for their menu items rather than pulling a bait-and-switch strategy on their diners. The restaurant is in Georgetown, so nobody expects it to be a bargain. Just print the full price, and treat customers like adults. Don’t patronize us.

We had a wonderful evening at Alara Restaurant last weekend. We were looking for a place to host an iftar dinner since some of our guests were fasting, and Alara was a perfect choice.

The menu is very diverse, so everyone in our group could easily find something they liked. The food was delicious and the atmosphere warm and cozy.

Huge thanks to Serdar for his impeccable service, hospitality, and friendliness, and to Ayazhan and manager Rumeysa for arranging the reservation for our large group and coordinating our evening.

Thank you also to the whole team and the chef for the amazing food and such a lovely experience. All our guests were very happy, and we’ll definitely be happy to come back again!

PEOPLE. Alara is seriously delicious. I’ve been here twice now and the food is top notch. The restaurant’s design is beautiful (very instagrammable) and the staff are super welcoming (Sasha is a wonderful server). It’s just got good vibes all around. Brunch is incredible (see pic of avocado toast with halloumi and poached eggs ). Their halloumi is the best I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to come back!
