First time in Aberdeen for a day trip from Edinburgh. Our waiter was lovely and the food amazing, I was really impressed, mussels were massive and so yummy, my husband is hard to please and he enjoyed the sea bass very much and appreciated the little bit of spice in the sauce. Our young daughters also very much enjoyed the chicken and homemade fries. Will definitely remember this place! Thank you to the chefs!

Busy Saturday evening and fortunate to get a table (with a 2h time on it).
Great, attentive service and everything was served to our pleasure, no rushing involved.

We had the very affordable 2 course meal (available up until 6pm) at £16.95 (£3 extra for a dessert).

Firstly we had the Bruschetta and Spaghetti Carbonara croquettes (Suppli alla Carbonara).

Lovely fresh Bruschetta and the croquettes were cooked to perfection, served hot with a rocket garnish.

Next up, my Wife’s favourite, Scalopinna di Maiale in a marsala wine sauce, green beans and rosemary potatoes (substituted from the mash it would normally be served with)
I went for the Chicken dish of the day and wasn’t disappointed. Pan fried and served in a rich tomato and mascarpone sauce. Served with roasted vegetables and rosemary wedged potatoes.

For drinks we had the Scottish orange tonic and an Italian Orange tonic ( )
The Caravaggio cocktail similar to an Aperol spritz with with the addition of Martini Rosso. Recommended!

5/5 Well done to the entire team for a lovely, welcoming and tasty meal.

Ordered off the set menu which is incredible value for money. Had chicken of the day which was lovely came with a red pepper sauce with pancetta. Had the profiteroles for dessert – very tasty.

Others in the party had the sea bass and the
Lasagne which they enjoyed.

Great service and the food came out quickly. Thoroughly recommend

Needing some quality food before a show we went to Al Fresco after finding out it was to be the location for a Christmas party. What a great find. We had the set menus with some options but easily for 3 courses. The service and food was excellent and a really relaxed atmosphere. Good job guys we will be back.

A chance lunch for two on a Wednesday. Great welcome, happy and polite staff, buzzing atmosphere. Complimentary bread, oil and balsamic vinegar whilst awaiting menu choice. Gambarone Piccanti, generous portion, seasoned very well plus lemon water in fingerbowl. Pasta Carbonarra so tasty, not a drop of cream in this classic dish, little bit too much olive oil to my taste but, hey, I’d buy this time and again. Desserts were luxurious bargains. Pinot Grigio/Sauvignon Blanc a fabulous, well balanced bottle of wine shared between us.

My wife and I took a bit of pot luck and went to Al Fresco for their pre-theatre menu. We definitley struck lucky as the food was excellent, as was the service. At £20 for three courses my expectations weren’t particularly high but were exceeded. A bottle of house red was £24. Service was helpful and attentive without being intrusive. I can see why it was already very busy when we left at 6:30 on a Thursday night. We’ll return to Al Fresco the next time we visit Aberdeen.

The most recent time we visited the food was not as great as the first and second visits had. The food was either too plane or had too much tomato taste at least for us personally. Considering that we still ordered at least one same dish from previous times it still went down in quality of taste overall for us. The starter of Arancini became extremely large and over filling that eating all is going make it difficult eating the main. As always the portion sizes were quite large. The service was also good, they checked on us. Unfortunately though the food quality wasn’t as great as before.

First visit:
The place is amazing, the food is tasty. We ordered starters, main and dessert and everything was lovely. The risotto balls were amazing, usually easy to mess up but here, just amazing. The prices are reasonable, I would even dare say that they are cheap or cheaper than most other Italian places we have visited. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was outstanding, members of staff would check on us and see how we like the food, always smiling. I do advise booking in advance especially in the evenings as they get very busy.

Visited Al Fresco while touring around Aberdeen last night. The food was great but the service was even better. Our server Kris went above and beyond to make our experience a memorable one. He was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the menu items they offered and prompt with his service. We will definitely visit Al Fresco again if back in Aberdeen!

Had such a lovely time here, service was beyond 5 star and the atmosphere was brilliant, not a spare table and all happy customers. The food was very nice, I would certainly recommend as a good place to meet with friends, family for lunch or dinner. Thank you!

I used Google reviews to find this gem of a restaurant.
The food was amazing; great portions and everything was so flavoursome.
We shared Arancini balls to start. The best I’ve ever had. Not too big and very tasty.
My friend had the chicken dish of the day and despite loving it, she couldn’t finish it. What a beautiful plate of food; the chicken was so moist.
I chose the smoked fish risotto and regretted it not. Just perfect!
If this restaurant was in my home town of Edinburgh I’d be recommending it to all my friends and family.
