Holy moly- SO GOOD. My new go-to spot for sure!! I have driven by Al Aqsa for years and didn’t know what it was, and finally popped in today! I am so sad I missed all these years without knowing about this place! I got the chicken and rice along with a potato samosa and a chicken one. Also bought a box of dates and peanut brittle- the whole front is a store! Owner was incredibly nice and friendly, and broke down the entire menu for me! Be sure to give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!

I went for my first time today and ordered takeout of goat biryani and lamb/chicken mix gyro. After I tried it I called the store back and told the chef how delicious I think it is. The last time I had biryani this good it was at a south asian community center event where peoples grandmas was making it. Im just a white guy but this is up there with the best authentic iv had. Everythings seasoned right and the meats are fresh and juicy. This is the soul food that is hard to find unless ur in new york. Meriden wallingford area is very fortunate to have access to this. I stopped by Al Aqsa Halal Restaurant in Wallingford and tried their gyro, and it was absolutely delicious — super flavorful, juicy, and perfectly seasoned! The portion was generous and came with warm pita, fresh salad, and creamy sauces that tied everything together. The place was clean, the staff was really kind and welcoming, and you can tell they take pride in their food. Definitely one of the best halal spots in the area — I’ll be coming back to try more from their menu!

I love coming to Al Aqsa! The food here is always tasty, and they have a great variety of meat curries to choose from. My absolute favorite is the chicken over rice, it’s always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I also love that they sell perfumes here too, it’s such a nice touch! Definitely one of my go-to spots.

Honestly love this place. The restaurant owner is always so kind and he makes all the food fresh. (He used to work as a butcher in NY, you just know this man knows what he’s cooking.) We usually take our food for date night at the house but there is a table in the storefront if you want to have like a stereotypical drop in 90’s vibe date. Cannot recommend this food enough!

Tried this new place tonight – very tasty!! Got a Chicken Shawarma Sandwich and some chicken and potato samosas. The shawarma pita was very flavorful and overflowing with tender chicken – I bought two but one was plenty for a meal. The samosas were tasty but a little spicy for our taste, but admittedly we are not into super spicy food. All in all it’s great to have something different in town and we are looking forward to trying something new next time!
