The food was fresh, the service was good, and the prices were fair. I would definitely visit again! There’s a variety of options on the menu to choose from including many sushi rolls and dinners. They offer take out and you can even order through doordash. There were several tables available when we visited and we didn’t wait long for our meals. Definitely worth checking out!

I got triple sushi on menu for my Birthday, the fish are very fresh and thick cut very yummy sushi. Worth it to drive 45 mins:) this is good sushi in town!! Ps. I ate one salmon before took a pic!

Great place to pick up sushi and other classic selections from the grill – they had excellent chef’s rolls and an extensive list of appetizers and roll options. Thoroughly enjoyed the tempura fish roll and the sweet potato roll. Had great vegetarian rolls and the presentation was lovely. It’s a classic one-room sushi shop that’s near to shopping and entertainment. Worth stopping by.

Pricing was more than fair for 2 people at 28$.
My sashimi was fresh and well prepared. Sushi was on point and tasted amazing. I can tell that the staff and management want to provide excellent food and they nailed it.
Our waitress was quick and concise with communication and had good attentiveness to our rable. Bravo!
The only downside for Akita is the interior layout. There is not much room to work with and they did the best they could. I wish they had dividers between seating areas. Maybe sacrificing a few tables for an interior level up in cushioned bench seats would make this a top notch restaurant!

The sushi was really good, I didn’t expect the fruit sushis to be so overwhelmingly sweet. They fully were like dessert (could see how someone else might like them, not for my family).

We enjoyed delightful and delicious food at Akita, a dinner made all the more memorable for being served in a friendly family atmosphere. We ended up in Moosic randomly and decided to try Akita because it was close to our hotel. We couldn’t have been more pleased by our choice. Both the Old Forge sushi roll and the scallop hibachi were tasty and attractively presented, with colorful veggies and yummy miso soup. It’s a small place and pleasantly cosy. If we lived nearby, I’m sure we’d come back often!

The moment we walked in, my wife said, “I have a bad feeling about this place,” and she couldn’t have been more right. The vibe was off immediately, but things went downhill fast.
First stop: the bathroom — and that alone should’ve been a warning. It was dirty and clearly neglected, which is never a good sign in a restaurant.
Then the food arrived. The gyoza and shumai tasted straight out of a frozen bag, the vegetable tempura was limp and greasy, and the salad might as well have been driftwood lettuce. The sushi was drenched in sauce to the point of drowning, and the rice managed to be both hard and mushy at the same time — an impressive culinary failure. We even got mean-mugged by the sushi chefs for daring to walk in.
As for the chicken yaki soba, I would’ve preferred they tossed us a pack of instant ramen and saved us the trouble.

While it looked rundown, and the food is pretty OK, I won’t lie at the restaurant had an audience.
It was packed for it small seating, and the staff was very kind.

This food used to be my favorite but went so far downhill. Used to get this all the time but this time when I ordered the chicken was so burnt yet raw on the inside (definitely were rushing to cook it so blasted the heat and said screw it). For the expensive price I want my food not to be rushed. Sushi not as fresh as it used to be too. I’m disappointed and will not order from here again which is a shame because I would get it all the time.
