I was excited to try ramen and ordered carry out 6/17/25. The menu doesn’t offer descriptions so be prepared to google “Akira, Shoyu, TanTan, etc…) I built my own, with 2 proteins for $18 ($1.50 extra for boiled egg.) Pictured: skinny noodle, tantan flavor, pan fried chicken, deep fried chicken, seaweed, bamboo shoots, wood ear, edamame and chrispy onion.
My order, along with some sushi was ready in 15 minutes. When I took my first bite, I was disappointed that it was cool, not hot. It was a colorful meal with a lot of texture. The TanTan is a slightly creamy broth, containing sesame, and chilis.
My only suggestion would be using freshly cooked chicken for each order. The chicken in my bowl was rubbery on the outside dry on the inside with and an off-putting, unpleasant taste. The chicken didn’t taste like chicken.
To be fair, this is the only dish I tried.

Best gyoza in town! This is my go to sushi place, primarily for carry out. The food is always very good and fresh. During dine in, the service is sometimes slow, even when they’re not busy and the kitchen can be a bit noisy. The online ordering website gives loyalty points, which offers a nice discount after it stacks up.

Oh my goodness, where to start! 😀
My friend and I came in for her birthday tonight (Mon, 11/24) and we couldn’t have asked for a better dinner! We’d never been in, but the overwhelming good reviews brought us. Our waiter, Damien, was a great start. He was attentive and I had zero complaints! He greeted and sat us, and I think he was the only server working that night. There were another couple tables around, and he seemed busy helping!
There was a deal to get a ramen bowl, a side, and a sushi roll all for $22 dollars. A great deal, as the ramen was absolutely delicious and a big portion size with the egg perfectly poached, the gyoza was really good as well, and the sushi roll (Spicy tuna) was flavorful with perfect rice. We also got some takoyaki, a favorite of mine, and it’s hands down the best I’ve ever had. Everything tasted very authentic, and the decor matched it. Even the bathroom was clean, well kept, sleek! You can tell that a lot of care is put into this place, from the design to the staff to the food. We were even given a little crab dish (I forget what it was called) on the house!
Plus, we really liked the robots singing ‘Tokyo’ by Leat’eq as they passed by. It was really cute!! ^u^
All in all, the prices were fair, the atmosphere was amazing, and we will absolutely be coming back. Thank you for the amazing experience!

We really like this establishment and their food. However the lack of energy in the room speaks a lot. The host/server lacks any enthusiasm or personality which just makes the entire eating experience not fun . Then to be sitting there eating our hot food the host started to mop the floor which made our food smell and taste like the floor cleaner they are using it ruined our meals for us. I understand cleaning and keeping an establishment neat but to do it right beside a table eating ( the only table in the entire restaurant) just feels extremely disrespectful. You are using harsh smelling chemicals while people are eating. Nobody wants to smell floor cleaners while eating. The food on the other hand has always been outstanding. I doubt we will be back for a while just based upon the atmosphere here it’s like entertaining a zombi.

Amazing Ramen! The tonkotsu broth rates as the best I have ever had! It is savory, warming, and comforting in all the right ways. The noodles were also very fresh and cooked perfectly with the right amount of chew. If you are looking for something to expand your palette, try the onkonomi. It really is a flavor explosion! The service was great, with the highly being the singing robot that brings your food to the table! I look forward to returning!

Akira Ramen & Izakaya – first time here, and loved it! Ordered a few things we had never tried before. The Bonito flake on our appetizer was a wild experience for sure. And it’s always fun to have a robot deliver your food!

Great all around experience. Our second visit in as many years (we are not local to Westminster). When in Westminster this is our pick for Japanese or Ramen, specifically. The ramen has flavorful broths and great noodles, and plenty of toppings. Gwnerally, everything is quite good, however the Chashu buns drift toward the flavorless end of the spectrum… perhaps the pieces of pork belly are two thin to contribute any meaningful flavor. Otherwise everything is really good, sushi too. They have build your own Ramen and Poke bowls. They might want to mention that poke bowls fish proteins are raw… would have saved my wife some embarrassment – or if I had paid attention while she ordered… oh and there is a robot. Kids and men love robots!

Came in on a humbug; was greeted by the atmosphere and decor. Akita gives a modern traditional vibe with a great open and airy feel. My waiter was very pleasant and assisted me on making some great choices.
Food: food was very flavorful and done nice; ramen is top notch for not being a dim sum. All in all I will definitely have to bring my wife next time
