A Hidden Gem Near Joshua Tree!

A must-stop if you’re visiting the area or heading back from Joshua Tree. Aki Sushi is a total gem – the place is clean, decent, and the service is impressively quick.

We had the Vegetarian Shoyu and Miso Ramen, and both were spot on. The real standout, though, was the Baked Salmon Roll – absolutely delicious! If you love ramen and sushi, this is a perfect, reliable spot to refuel.

An OK restaurant in this remote place. The rolls and ramen are good, but the sashimi tuna is not that fresh.

Perfect place for dinner after a long day hiking in Joshua Tree. I had the beef noodle stir fry and my wife had a mango tuna roll. We shared the shishito peppers. Everything was delicious. Service was great and food arrived fast. There is plenty of parking and it’s right off the main road through the town of Yucca Valley.

Waiting over an hour for the sushi portion of our dinner to be delivered. Noticed a table that arrived 45min later than us getting their sushi served. I threatened to leave without paying and miraculously was served our sushi right away. The tab was not adjusted at all and wee were not offered any compensation for our wait. We have gone here in several occasions without issues. You need to work on prioritizing in house customers instead of to go orders.

First time ordering a noodle dish from this place and I won’t be ordering another because I asked if they had garlic noodles and she said she didn’t know what that was so I then asked her what kind of noodles do they have and she told me Don and yakisoba so I asked her to explain the difference and she explained to me which one would be closest to the garlic noodles that I wanted so I ordered the Yaki soba noodles. I asked her how is the dish prepared what comes with it? She didn’t understand that when I say she, I’m speaking of Rennie And I said how how’s the dish prepared what comes in it? She answered Here is where I have a problem. I asked her after she told me how the dishes prepared. I asked her to add garlic. She tells me that’s an extra dollar! Ready your explanation that you are a restaurant and you feel that that’s the price Restaurant charge is not convincing enough to me to pay a dollar for a spice that I can buy for less than a dollar so it’s a no for me on top of everything else. You can be rude or dismissive and soft-spoken at the same time. I’ma just leave that there.

Seems a very popular Sushi style restaurant in the Yucca Valley. It was busy for two straight nights, however the second night service was relatively fast. Both night we tried sushi rolls, and depending upon what roll you chose the taste varies significantly. Some are excellent, some are not so much. The rolls are large enough. A great choice if you are visiting Joshua Tree National Park and staying close to Twentynine Palms.

Food were good. We stopped here to eat probably around Nov. 5 after our hiked in JNP. Servers are very attentive and friendly.

One of my order definitely was a no no (my order was similar to any sushi place I go). I didn’t think it had shrimps on it include. I thought it would be all fish. Allergic to shrimp and it could have been worse if I had eat it.

This restaurant is popular & busy for good reason. Staff is friendly & accommodating. The Bento plates we had and desserts were beautiful, hot, made with fresh ingredients. It does a lot of take-out business as well as dine in. I don’t eat raw fish but the platters of sushi & sashimi we saw *looked* lovely.

DO NOT EAT HERE!! IM WARNING YOU THAT YOU WILL HAVE A BAD EXPERIENCE!!!
LET ME EXPLAIN WHY!!!
Before, I did love aki sushi, but now I hate it. Not only is the food now taste bad and oily but the customer surverice is really bad. My uncle treated us for dinner, and he said we should try Aki since it’s been a while. So we went, but as soon as we entered, none of the staff greeted us even if there was 2 staff almost doing nothing. Take note, we were by the door waiting to be sitted but they left us there completely being ignored even though we were INFRONT OF A 2 SERVERS. We were the ones who said “Hi!” To them first in order to be notice by them (6 PEOPLE IS VERY HARD TO NOT SEE WHEN THE PLACE ONLY HAVE 5 TABLES BEING OCCUPIED THAT MOMENT) then none of the servers said any “welcome ” Like they used to do or a simple “Hi” back or a simple smile. Also, the male server that took our orders was frowning at us. I know he can speak english because I’ve heard him speak it, HE SHOULD NOT ACT LIKE HE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT IM SAYING (IM ALSO ASIAN AND I KNOW THAT TRICK) or HE SHOULD STOP FROWNING AT HIS CUSTOMERS SO HE DOESN’T MAKES US FEEL UNWELCOME. I know that they are tired since it’s already 1900 (7pm) when we went there but I work in a fast food restaurant and the military Chowhall too but no matter how tired we are we never frown or ignore the customers.

As for the food, it taste bad. Not only it’s oily, it is also either salty or bland. The meat that I got in my Ramen is so thin (im guessing it’s 3-4mm thin). We also ordered their lobster popcorn and what we got is just a bunch of deep fry batter. So if I were you, do not eat there. Coz you will aso be force to pay 18% of your order as a tip if there is more than 6 of you. They do not really deserve it and I let them know about it that I was not happy and that will be our last time there. The cost of my RAMEN WAS ONLY $15 and the tip that WE WERE FORCED TO PAY WAS FREAKING $22. we were still planning to tip them after we eat but definitely not 18% nor 15% because they do not deserve it….

NOW TELL ME DO THEY DESERVE THAT TIP?….
