Excellent Sushi period. Wonderful service from Cyrus. What prompted the this review was Cyrus, social cues are beyond His age.
Appreciated His abilities to identify when to approach and the manner is which He did so. It’s rare.

Such a shame. I used to go here often and I was originally really impressed with the food quality, the prices were reasonable, the service was really good and consistent, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I really enjoyed the experience and I was often happy to tip at least 20%. But last time I went, the food tasted like dirt, literally like it was dropped on the floor and rolled in dirt before being cooked and served. As I sat at my table and tasted my food, I looked around and all the staff were staring at me with smirks on their faces, like it was deliberate. I was so shocked and disgusted I walked out and I never went back. Not sure how or why this happened, I always had a great experience here before.

Akari has been my local sushi place all my life and I’ve converted countless friends into fans. The portions are HUGE for very affordable prices, and the sashimi is fresh and tasty. They have a diverse menu that doesn’t overwhelm you, and the atmosphere is great with authentic, private japanese booths you can eat in.

My previous sushi place. It was tasty but I never felt welcome. If you leave and nobody says goodbye that’s a pretty bad sign at a place like this.
My friends and I are admittedly a little outspoken and jovial; a bad fit for this dining room.

Their bento was okay. However, I am not satisfied with the service. While eating and hadn’t asked for the bill yet, it was already brought to my table. The restaurant wasn’t busy at the time so it felt a bit rushed. It’s kinda rude as I’m still eating yet the crew approached my table with their terminal device. I wanted to mention it for awareness of their management to train their people for better customer service.

I ordered a sashimi bento, but it didn’t feel worth the $23.10. The karaage had a hard outer layer with too much batter, the garnish on the sashimi wasn’t very fresh, and the tempura coating was soft. Overall, the meal felt quite ordinary and expensive. Also, the lady staff kept confirming my order in Japanese, even though I didn’t use Japanese when ordering.

Fantastic! The quality of the dishes here are top notch. My friends and i have been going to this restaurant for years. We came back recently and experienced prompt service and outstanding dishes. It is usually busy here but if you are able to the private rooms are quieter. We had some of the special rolls that are on the higher price side but are worth it. The Amazing roll lives up to its name. Very unique roll. The sashimi is fresh and melts in your mouth.

I absolutely love their special roll menu. It is definitely on the pricier side, considering how much you get for what you pay. But with that said, the rolls are delicious and full of flavour.
I highly recommend the Fantastic Roll and Amazing roll if you like things like aburi and oshi and want that garlic umami flavour.
The crispy roll and yam crunch roll were great options, but the Crispy Roll was a lot better flavour wise if you were debating between the two crispy options.
Their lunch set (available before 3PM) is a fantastic value if you do order around that time!
